They had a good mixture on Sunday.

Mendenhall 16 carries for 60 yards and 2 TDs.
Redman 8 carries for 51 yards

Their running game seems to work better when they rotate them both. Mendenhall even seems to run harder after Redman breaks off a couple of nice ones. He feels threatened.

Damn. I don't get NFL Network. I have friends who do, but they're Browns fans, which means I could find myself getting gutted like a fish when I start getting obnoxious.

This is a conundrum.

Go with the latter, at least your browns fan friends will have something to cheer about.

Browns could really use a win over the Steelers, in one of these games.

Stating the obvious here but they're having a terrible season.

Not generating any buzz. No life in the stadium when I turn on the games. At least last year they had that mini spurt about midseason. This has been a nothing of a season for the Browns. Surprising, I thought they'd be a lot better.

When the head coach quits on you the players soon follow. There will be no more wins this year.

In hindsight, I think they should've stuck with Mangini. That was a pretty good year last year.

It ended bad getting thumped by the Steelers but overall they were making some strides.

I felt Mangini needed to go, but its looking like Shumer is worse. It has to be frustrating as hell to watch that shit product on the field every week....reminds me a lot OSU this year. Terrible play calling along with one mistake after another.

Mangini is essentially the equivalent of Hitler wearing a headset. He had to go. Holmgren screwed up in giving him that extra year to be "fair" when everyone knew he was a lame duck.

As I said on the Browns thread, at least John Fox adapts his offense to fit the players (Tebow) in it. This team is equipped to RUN the ball yet Shurmur wants to forcefeed his "pass first" WCO.

Shurmur seems like he's in the mold of a Morningwhig (sp?), Linehan, Zorn, etc.

Coaches that just don't look the part as a head coach. Ever after one year you can tell he was not qualified.

How about Jeff Fisher?

Good coach. Seems like a natural fit in the AFC North.

Holmgren wants the guys from his "tree" (see nepotism) which is starting to looking like a soft ass pussified finesse group that has no idea how to play in a "tough" AFC North.

Holmgren also gave himself an extra year by keeping Mangini. Holmgren has pretty much been a given a free pass up to this point, but if things do not at least start to go in a positive direction, he has to be given some of the blame.

It almost seems to me that shurmur knows the logical way of using colt(fast paced offense, 2 minute drill constantly) but just doesn't want him as his qb. He is making it as hard as possible for him so that he can use that as an excuse to part ways with him. At least in my opinion it does.

Holmgren's pay check stealing ass has been getting plenty of blame with me. He hired Shurmur.

I'll go Steelers 24-17 with the game in doubt in the 4th.

This won't be close. I know Pittsburgh has "played to the level of their competition" but they would have to play rock bottom in this game for it to be even close.

McCoy was EXTREMELY lucky against Baltimore. He was telegraphing his throws and DB's were jumping routes. Too bad for Baltimore that their DB's have stone hands or they would've had 3-4 picks with at least one being for 6. Pittsburgh will be salivating when they see the game film.

And for those thinking "the Browns may pull out ALL the stops in this one?" The Browns have NO 'stops." "Exotic" for Shurmur is running on 2nd & short...normally he passes, it's incomplete as is the next pass...then a punt.

If the Browns want to try to keep this respectable, they can't give up on the run. But knowing Shurmur, they will abandon it early and Pittsburgh's rush will pin their ears back.

I really don't understand why he abandons the run all the damn time. It cost him the cincy game.
