Yes and no. Obviously yes because they would have been great prospects to land. But I think some UM fans' confidence was a little skewed. I still think Reeves was going to be hard to nab because of Williams. And Michigan joined the party late on Kozan, so not a huge surprise there either. I think Garnett was the biggest surprise of the 3, although as I stated above, the word was Stanford for about 36 hours leading up to his announcement.

Michigan will still end up a top 10 class. They most likely sign Sam Grant, a 3* TE (he is 3* because he is a TE), and 3* DT Willie Henry. Diamond still looks like a real possibility.

His list of offers is almost all smaller schools. You think Michigan is reaching now?

I don't think it's Michigan "reaching" so much as it's Michigan trying to open that Glenville-pipe door a little more.

More this. They do like Henry a lot. He will obviously be one they develop do play later in his career, unlike a 4 or 5* that might come in and contribute right away. But they may gain that foot in the door to Glenville, which is well worth a scholly.

I'd agree and say that's big 4 years ago. Glenville isn't putting out the players like it was now that Ginn sr is gone. But I was curious and you answered.

Only funny thing is Michigan posters on their sites say they "passed" on Schutt, so they wanted this kid more then Schutt??

I wouldn't say they wanted him more than Schutt, as in "let's take Henry over Schutt". But they definitely passed on Schutt. That's not even arguable. I think they had scholarships open that they didn't think they'd have, so they offered this kid.

So you think they now regret "passing" on him?

With all due respect, I'd really like to see a link or an article showing that tsun 'passed' on Tommy Schutt. I just find it hard to believe that if he wanted to go there, that Hoke wouldn't have given him a scholly.

I'll dig up the one from when Notre Dame passed on him when I get to my computer. Michigan followed suit a couple days later.

This is a quick 247 article, I'm pretty sure there was a more in depth one on ISD but its difficult searching on my phone on their site.

I'm guessing it's like us passing on diamond maybe? He visited and we decided we werent interested. Maybe the same with Schutt. I just got a kick out of a few Michigan posters saying they'd rather have this kid over Schutt.

Anyone saying this is just trying to justify it. I've not seen anyone really say they'd rather have Henry over Schutt. I wasn't happy they passed on Schutt.

Another likely scenerio is that UM was close to landing Pipkins, who they REALLY wanted. The week Pipkins was announcing was the same week that ND turned Schutt away and he announced he was visiting UM. UM may have been worried that a visit and commitment by Schutt would scare Pipkins away.

Link on that? As far as I knew, Diamond eliminated OSU, not the other way around.

After osu stopped calling him after his visit. He just eliminated them last week. Osu didn't call him after his visit there.

That makes sense. They could have just slow played him. But def makes sense.

I do think this definitely played a part, but I still think there was more to it. They didn't really slow play him, the no played him. They flat out told him not to visit. It wasn't like they couldn't take 2 DTs at the time. But, maybe they only wanted 1 at the time.
