Manchester is 4-2 but look at the schedule they played... They beat bad black rivers, timkens, and tusky valley. I'll admit I don't know anything about woodridge...
Northwestern... HAS ALSO PLAYED BAD TEAMS! Now... They were beating a solid Mogadore team but.... lost.... Their best win has been Smithville.... (WHOOP-ED-DEE-DO!)
This game will however distinguish a WCAL runner up and knock one of them out of the playoffs.
Hillsdale can still make the playoffs if they lose this game. Fantastic50.net has them at 79% chance to make the playoffs with only 6 wins, 89% chance with 7 wins. They currently sit at the #1 spot in the rankings by a whole 1/2 a point. They are in good shape.
Manchester is a very good team. Woodridge is very good, also, demolishing CVCA 55-0 and their only losses coming to SVSM and undefeated Mogadore. As long as Manchester and Triway win this week, next week should decide the PAC champion.
I've spoken to a few people that have seen both Hillsdale and Northwestern play, and I've gotten conflicting stories. One (Dalton fan) says that Northwestern is the better team and should beat Hillsdale, and the other (Smithville fan) says that Hillsdale is the better team and should beat Northwestern (but mentioned Northwestern matches up better and has the better chance of the two to beat Norwayne).
I obviously can not and have not seen either team play this year (other than Northwestern in a meaningless scrimmage). But I get the sense that Northwestern has much more balanced on offense, with explosive QB, RB, and WR, as well as a defense that has made plays. On the other hand, Hillsdale's offensive line is very, very good, they have a good RB or 2, and they are pretty good at what they do. Can Hillsdale's D-line dominate in the trenches, forcing Northwestern out of their comfort zone and disrupt the offense? Can Northwestern's front 7 stop the running game and use a balanced offense to keep Hillsdalle off-balance? I dunno.
