Hits: I happened to merge onto the turnpike today and a guy in the middle lane pulled up beside me and went the same speed for about 10 seconds. I looked over and just started laughing, thinking about this thread. Then I said, "see ya!" and zipped ahead..........just a little bit. ;)

You were lucky lol. You could have been killed.

Love driving in Texas for that reason. That, and the 70-75MPH two-lane roads and 80mph interstates out in West Texas.

You were the one who first claimed it was dangerous because of his blind spot which makes no sense. It makes no sense because side-by-side cars aren't in the other's blind spot and also because, with the way he initially worded it, he was not in either of the side-by-side cars.

2) Don't tell me what I said. Let's go back and quote what was said.

The way he originally wrote it, the only place he could be is behind the two side by side cars. That, or not on the highway at all and speaking hypothetically; which is fine. He then came back and added more details which changed what was originally wrote. Then thats when you started thinking you were all cool and right about everything and being a dicck. Now, he may have MEANT something other than what he originally wrote but that's not my fault.

Since you seem like you want a debate, that is. So, go.
1. normally if you are paying attention to the road infront of you and checking your rear view mirror(which i would say you check more than your side mirrors), you wouldnt see a car next to you, its out of your peripheral vision. plus like i said earlier, if there is an obstacle in the road and you have to swerve or change lanes, with a car next to you, you cant or you would cause an accident...making it dangerous.

2.doesnt matter where you thought he was when he originally wrote it, that is my point. like i said, that is irrelevant. he was just talking about the situation in general, he wasnt telling a specific story about himself.

Why is it I never have a problem like this? Simple because I think about how to solve the problem of slow driver in the left lane. I don't try to deal with the situation I alter the variables.

I travel a lot on the expressway and turnpike and run across this all the time.

Solution:

Just pop this on your dash behind a slow car and turn it on. They move over quickly.. trust me works all the time. :D</SPAN>

What law would I be breaking ?

The law that tells me I can test my safety hazard equipment.. Sorry but I din't know that there is a correct time and place to do this task..

Let me get this straight I do over 90,000 miles driving per year and I have within my truck safety equipment for my protection and others in case of a emergency . This equipment can alway be used to support the police in need for major accidents would it be smart to make sure it is in proper operational condition...?

The way he has it worded, his car is not one of the cars side by side. He says "drives side by side with the car in the right lane and NEITHER will increase speed". If he was talking about himself and another car going side by side, why wouldn't he just slow down or speed up? I was with ya at first Glory, til I actually reread what was said, and as much as I hate to, I gotta agree with SVF on this one. Lol

Thanks. Very classy on your part as I know I'm not on your favorite posters list. I'm not sure why he doesn't see it, tho it's no big deal. The only reason I'm still even talking about this is cuz he kept saying how wrong I was. That and he quoted something to me in giant letters. I hate that lol.

haha because it doesnt matter if he was one of those cars side by side or behind it, or infront or wherever. he was just describing the situation. i knew that his car was not one of the side by side cars the first time i read it, but it didnt matter if his car or was or wasnt. the situation he described was two cars side by side.

its like saying "you know whats awesome, watching a game winning homerun in the bottom of the ninth." it doesnt matter if he was in the game, at the game, watching it on tv, or watching a highlight on ESPN. he was just saying how awesome that situation is.
