Oklahoma State hasn't had a chance to play LSU, Alabama did and they lost(at home.)Mulva;999922 wrote:Record: 11-1 vs. 11-1
Good wins: (10-2) Arkansas, (9-3) Penn State vs. (9-3) Oklahoma, (10-2) Kansas State, (9-3) Baylor
Loss: (13-0) LSU vs. (6-6) Iowa State
How could anyone think it's that definitive one way or the other?
We know OSU is the best team in their conference. We know Alabama isn't.
If Alabama beats LSU, it would settle nothing. If OSU beat LSU, it would be clear OSU was the best team in the country.

How much does it have to be stressed each year that defense wins titles? Again, look at past OK teams. No sense in arguing anymore, Ive proved my point.
Totally different teams. Like some one said Oklahoma st reminds me of the packers. Give up yards force a ton of turnovers and can score the football. I the Iowa st game up sets happen and they had heavy hearts into not an excuse but it's tough to keep focus when something so tragic just happened. Either way I think osu and lsu would be a great game. Also it's not an arguments is a discussion

Iowa State is better than OSU. Which conference are they in?

Based on the format used to determine who the best in each conference is, OSU was the best in their conference, Alabama was not.karen lotz;1000095 wrote:Iowa State is better than OSU. Which conference are they in?
Since CFB doesn't have a balanced national schedule, conference play is the best way to weed out teams who aren't the best in the country, because they aren't even the best in their conference.

Oregon- 240 passing yards 1 INT
West Virginia- 463 passing yards 2 INTS
Alabama-200 passing yards 2 INTS
Arkansas-207 passing yards 1 INT
Georgia-218 passing yards 2 INT
1 Team on that list exclusively passes (same system as OSU) and torched LSU's defense through the air.
The other teams I listed had moderate success.
Oklahoma State's offense is far superior to the ones I listed. The question is, will we get a chance to see what can happen?

Didn't somebody post earlier where osu's schedule was higher then bama's. I think osu did enough tonight to change some people's minds. Should be osu vs lsu.

Listen, LSU, and Alabama are the top 2 teams in the country. Get over it. If Oklahoma St. did not shit the bed against Iowa St., then they would have got their shot at LSU.

If bama didn't shit the bed vs lsu at HOME then they would be in the title game ( see what I did there)

Losing earlier always benefits you in this flawed system, but Bama's loss is also to the lone undefeated team in 1-A by 3 in OT.dazedconfused;1000158 wrote:we don't know this for certain. alabama just lost earlier than okst did

The question is... Will enough coaches put okie state ahead of bama. I hope so. I'd wanna watch osu vs lsu. I won't watch bama lsu again. Terrible.

oh i know...i hate this system. why is it so hard to have lsu play stanford and alabama play okst in a pair of semis? none of these teams are doing anything this weekend, they could get it donets1227;1000162 wrote:Losing earlier always benefits you in this flawed system, but Bama's loss is also to the lone undefeated team in 1-A by 3 in OT.

The thing people fail to remember is the controversy of OSU's field goal in the first overtime (or maybe end of regulation-can't remember) where the ball seems to go over the the upright. If the goalposts are 6 inches higher, the ball might have been good; same with Boise State @ Nevada last year. Unlike Alabama, where they completely shanked their misses.wghfan;1000150 wrote:Listen, LSU, and Alabama are the top 2 teams in the country. Get over it. Thanks for not mentioning LSU's fumble recoverys vs. those teams. Thanks for not mentioning the final scores. And yeah, OSU's offense is far more superior than Oregon. Get a clue. Yeah, I really got owned alright Crimson. LSU has wins over 3 top 10 teams, OSU has none. LSU whipped their opponents besides Bama, while OSU lost to a horrible team, had to have a big time comeback vs another .500 team and has to squeeze one out vs KSU. Yeah, OSU is pretty dominant. Wow, they beat Ok tonight. Big deal, they arent top 10 worthy. LSU and Bama killed Arkansas who is and will be ranked in the top ten. LSU drilled top 10 Oregon too.bigkahuna;1000133 wrote:For LSU

If the goalposts were ten yards wider, Bama doesn't miss all those field goals.
Everyone is making excuses for osu. Same stuff can be done for Alabama's case.

Thanks for not mentioning that OSU's loss came within 24 hours of yet another plane crash killing university members...they almost cancelled the game because of it.
