People at UK accent the wrong syllables of words and it drives me crazy. Umbrella is not pronounce UMbrella. Insurance is not pronounced INsurance.

My Mom mispronounces so many words that I can't keep track. It's to the point that on holidays we will bring up her current faux pas.

I admit that I call it langcasster, I a also say Newark really fast so it comes out as nerk most of the time. If you want to see something funny go to Perry county and watch people order taco bell. I am not kidding you it is like the wild and wonderful whites of west virginia.

I'm a Newark native and the correct pronunciation is Nerk.

My boss is the worst of all time. We work in transportation and he cannot say 90% of the cities we deal with and even some of the states. He gets everyone's name wrong (it took him 8 months to learn how to say my last name) and I am convinced that he doesn't even try to read things...he just looks at the first few letters and guesses.

His texts and emails are also a complete nightmare.

None of these. The Kentucky version, anyway, is pronounce Loo-will-ville.

My grandmother grew up in Western Pennsylvania and had some great ones. The most notable being: en-velps = envelopes. Never knew why she pronounced it in that manner. My father says "chwuh-nee" dollars instead of twen-tee. My father adds the 'r' to words that don't need it: Warshington D.C., "Warsh the car", etc. My friend's wife says "wooder" instead of 'wah-ter'.

Common ones that I hear mispronounced on a daily basis at work:

Once = "Onced"
Twice = "Twiced"
Angioplasty = "Angioplastic"
Chimney = "Chimley"

Words pronounced here in Hawaii
How you doing is how's it
Three is tree
That's ok is no worries
If its 3:30 it's tree tirty
No thanks is no tanks

I could go on all day. They sound very very uneducated, but for the most part they are. School is very much on the backburner here. If there are waves, most kids aren't at school. They get out at noon on wed and Friday's.
It's pretty bad
