Pretty crappy on what Gunner did to LSU. I wonder if the title game had anything to do with it, or how Les treats QB's, or if it was all because of family/distance?

The three things he was looking for were quality of education, relationships with the people in the program (players/coaches), and distance from home. Notre Dame was the best fit for him in all three.

Remember LSU got involved really late in the process. He's had relationships with Notre Dame's coaches for almost 2 years. Read his quotes from the link I posted earlier about how Kelly approached his recruitment.

Cgw it couldn't be how les gets on his qb's because I think it'd be safe to say Kelly is 10x worse towards his qb's. This kid is a player, but is pretty confused.. Hopefully he made the right choice in the end.

You are not privy towards any information on either coaches' relationships with any player. I don't know how you can be so confident.

I'd say watching his mannerisms towards his qb's is a solid indicator of how they are treated. SOME players react great to that. Others obviously don't.

I'm glad you have a solid grip how his mannerisms towards his QBs impact the team. Easy to watch ESPN replay him yelling at players after making stupid mistakes and come to the conclusion players don't respond well to it.

Multiple recruits have said the yelling doesn't scare them or their families away. Nelson Algholor said he likes it, and it shows that he is passionate about football and his team. Te'o turned down high first round money to come back to play for him. Tyler Eifert returned to school to play for him.

Paraphrasing a quote from Eifert on a premium ND site:

Kelly’s purple faced rants- according to Eifert, the players are not bothered by the yelling at all. Eifert said that Kelly is so incredibly competitive that he will scream on the sideline, particularly when he sees Rees or other players miss an assignment that he knows they can execute easily. Eifert says that despite the media depicting Kelly as a loose canon, the players see him as a players coach and is completely different off the field. Specifically, Eifert said Kelly is completely approachable and helpful to players with any issues they have both on and off the field and is “always available” to talk or just be there for his players.

Please list some proof from someone who has personally dealt with Kelly that says they don't like the way they were treated.

Didn't a QB just decide to leave?

I'm not saying everyone hates it. But it's accurate to say some kids don't react well to it.
Get into coaching and see that every player handles criticism differently. Some can be screamed at, others just can't.

I'm not trying to start a fight here, I'm just saying that if he didn't like how les treats his qb's on the field then he wouldn't like how Kelly does it either... Thus saying he must not care about that.
Sorry that was hard for you to understand.

Dude keil hasn't played for either of them. So he's going to go off what he see's.... And in this case it's obvious that he's not turned off by it.

All this did was cancel out one of cgw's questions. It wasn't supposed to be a big issue. Calm down

QB decide to leave where? Referring to Crist?

CGW is speculating that Kiel didn't like how Miles treats his QB's on the field. There has been nothing from anyone in or close to Kiel's family as to why he flipped other than he is more comfortable with everything at Notre Dame. Don't let his bitterness make things hard for you to understand.

Yes, and I also read every shred of information about the program that is released to the public. From articles to interviews to twitter feeds.

Nice subtle insult there at the end. You never said "on the field," sorry that was hard to type.

Dayne Crist left the program because 1) he fell on the depth chart below underclassmen and would not likely start in 2012, 2) his old coach who recruited him, signed him, and runs a pro-style offense, just took the Kansas job, and 3) because he graduated and would be eligible to play in 2012.

Facts are neither of you have any information even hinting that a quarterback is unhappy in the program and/or with how Kelly coaches. There are also far more screenshots of Kelly being calmer and more collected than there are infamously redfaced and screaming. I won't deny that he is a screamer, but a good number of college coaches are and suddenly Kelly now a raging maniac? The insinuations are pathetic and have nothing to back them up.

It Spunds like Armand armstead and his dad are set on nd. Arik is pretty much between auburn and nd. I think he ends up at nd which would be a huge get not only for the football program but for the basketball too

I lol'd.

In regards to the Kiel issue...who cares why he flipped. Bottom line, he will be in the blue and gold next year.

Although, I'm wondering if all the rumors about the LSU in-fighting prior to the National Championship may be true and Kiel may have gotten wind of it and didn't want to be a part of that. Who knows...and who cares? He's Irish now, and I'm excited to see how it all works out for ND.
