Personally, the kid obviously wants to stay close to home imo. I dont know WHAT it was that made him choose LSU, but I dont think he actually wanted to go there. He wanted IU cause it was the closest, but something went wrong there (beyond losing) because his brother is also leaving the team.

I dont know why it wasnt ND after that, but something was pushing him to LSU, and its clear he didnt want to be there. I cant imagine it will be anything but ND now.

EDIT: This is all speculation per the recent rumors. But if they are true, thats my opinion.

Yeah this is just beyond crazy. Irish Envy has been down since about 2 today because of all of the traffic. Possibility of Kiel, both Armsteads, and then the Cal situation are just too much for the server to handle.

Well scratch that. Apparently he could join the team as a preferred walk on. Gunner and his parents were on campus today according to WNDU.

I just read that Kiel was indeed on LSU's campus.
Payton was quoted as saying that he would have chose UM if it weren't so far from him. He went to Cal to stay close to home. Doesn't sound like UM or ND have much of a chance if that's his main reason for choosing.
