Which you'd have thought they would've had more respect having their team (the Colts) ripped from them....

We've seen the "good" years with Sipe, Kosar, etc. When Modell moved this team he took any major shot at a Super Bowl. At one time (late 80's), this team was a consistent winner. Then, they move and have been **** ever since. That 2001 Lombardi Trophy should say 'Cleveland Browns."
I hate Baltimore too, but I think it is a stretch to say that the Browns would have won the SuperBowl after the 2000 season. Modell interferred a lot less after the move and let Ozzie and comp. build a great defense. I'm not sure Modell would have stayed out of the way in Cleveland.

Perhaps but they certainly wouldn't be the clusterfuck they are now.

wb/br,

appreciate your takes. i was 9 when the move happened so i don't have that sense of the moment for the "good browns" teams. i just know of those teams from highlights and tales from older relatives. i understand the joy and elation (unfortunately the pain and suffering as well) that those teams caused but i wasn't there to experience it like i was for the mid-90s indians or even the early to mid 90s cavs. i know both of those teams, i never really got to know the browns until 99 when the came back.

to me, the browns will always be the browns (they just took three years off in the mid-90s) and the ravens are just some expansion team that formed in 1996 and they happen to be in our division. i get that they used to be "us" but they're not us, we're us. i don't get geared up for them like i do for the steelers (i'd even say they are behind the bengals).

dazed...imagine the excitement of the 90's Tribe x's 100 with the Browns during the Bernie Kosar years. Very exciting/fun time to be a Browns fan.

I assume the game plan will involve feeding Ray Rice but I have been fooled a couple of times this year.

must be nice. i was born in 90. didn't start understanding and following til the browns have came back in 99 and i have seen nothing but shit managment, shit coaches and shit players. im holding out that it changes, but i highly doubt it. i expect the browns to lose every game they play so don't get pissed off the games and it still doesn't help. i would love to see and 8-8 team. thatd be a start.

Ah good call. I have a buddy who is going that keeps rubbing it in to me. I will eventually make it down there for a Browns/Ravens game.

Although I'm not by nature a hateful person, I can easily find enough loathing in my heart to cover both Pittsburgh and Baltimore (and Modell). The one difference is: I actually respect Pittsburgh. I will never respect Baltimore because the entire franchise was founded on lies and thievery.

Don't know about that but I'd imagine he'd have a tough time making cuts.

Hopefully if he's out the Browns running backs will be able to knife right through the Baltimore defense.

BR .... what's your thoughts on Pontbriand being cut??? I think it was a bad move.

I think we have a lot bigger problems than a guy that had two bad snaps in 8 years!

I'm not sure if he is tailgating or not. I wouldn't wear Ravens gear to a game so I shouldn't have to worry about marauding fans when I do go. Ha
