Figured I would start this as it's coming up this week. IMO, it's a better slate of games than the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, at least this year.

Thursday Dec. 1
St.John's @ Kentucky
Georgetown @ Alabama
Providence @ South Carolina
Mississippi @ DePaul

Friday Dec 2
Vanderbilt @ Louisville
Florida @ Syracuse
Cincinnati @ Georgia
Auburn @ Seton Hall

Saturday Dec 3
Arkansas @ Connecticut
Pittsburgh @ Tennessee
West Virginia @ Mississippi State
LSU @ Rutgers

Thoughts? I see the Big East winning 7-5 personally.

The problem with these matchups are that they make no sense. UK v. St. John's??? Really??? I think everyone would have rather seen UK play Syracuse or UCONN.

FWIW (winners are bolded)

Thursday Dec. 1
St.John's @ Kentucky
Georgetown @ Alabama
Providence @ South Carolina
Mississippi
@ DePaul

Friday Dec 2
Vanderbilt @ Louisville
Florida @ Syracuse
Cincinnati
@ Georgia
Auburn @ Seton Hall

Saturday Dec 3
Arkansas @ Connecticut
Pittsburgh
@ Tennessee
West Virginia @ Mississippi State
LSU @ Rutgers (LSU wins)

I have the Big East winning 7-5 in these matchups.

I actually think the SEC will sweep Thursday. 3 of the 4 wins will be rather easy IMO for Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi. Both Providence and South Carolina stink, so who knows.

On Friday, things get interesting. Vanderbilt is without Ezeli still, but I still wouldn't be shocked if they win. Florida can also beat Syracuse, but that match-up has not been kind to the Gators as of late. Cincinnati is better than Georgia, but they have also dropped a few games early. Auburn and Seton Hall are both pretty bad, but the Hall should win at home. At best, 1-3 for the SEC on Friday.

Saturday is make or break day. Arkansas lost Marshawn Powell for the season, which is a monster loss. Connecticut should roll. Tennessee has actually impressed me a bit but a veteran Pittsburgh team, even on the road will be too much, especially since they can get revenge on UT who whipped them at MSG last year. Mississippi State is better than West Virginia so that's one I'm confident in, and LSU/Rutgers is a toss-up, but I'll take RU. Again, 1-3 on Saturday for the SEC.

Overall, 7-5 Big East or 6-6 tie.

Do they have a system to matching teams up or is it a crap shoot?

None of the games really stick out as a "must see" game. I mean obviously UK will be a good watch, as will Cuse and UConn(although HIGHLY overrated IMO). But there is no Dook/OSU or UNC/Wisky or the previous years B1G/ACC Challenge marquee games.

I agree with what others are saying. I would have loved to seen Kentucky vs. Syracuse, Florida vs. Louisville, and Alabama vs. Connecticut.

Bama can be a great team. They are probably already the best defensive team in the country. However, they still struggle to score. Randolph and Lacey, as they improve, are great scoring Freshman though. Releford has improved greatly offensively too.

almost banked it in from half court. Good finish to that game, Bama down 9 with a little over 2 minutes to play.

For some reason I thought it was only Grants second year, not his 3rd. Even so, as Az stated, two of the athletic guys are his recruits.
