Wow...it took you guys this long to bring this over here.

I'm disappointed in you.

And that is a misleading headline. The cigars were stupid. But those that were smoking them have already been punished. So it's a non-issue (despite what the Youngstown media wants you to believe). As for the alcohol, I'll wait and see what the results of the investigation are first. I heard that it was nothing more than a bottle of sparkling white grape juice in each kid's locker when they got back. But we will wait and see.

I hope you are right. Google pointed this out to me, not some other forum. No clue about the real story but the one I found seemed like news.

Non issue??? First funny thing you have said in years. At the very least, we are talking about some unintelligent people. And they are always fun to talk about.

You might find this hard to believe, but in the 1970s in Steubenville, more people showed up to see the band than the football team. The band was sensational and the team stunk. Those days are gone forever.

Last I heard, the YPD was still investigating.

I had heard from some people back home that the parent that supplied the non-alcoholic drinks brought the receipt down to the police station and turned it in. She supposedly bought 45 bottles of some sort of sparkling juice, and figured the kids would shake them up and spray them all over the locker room (which they did - and got in trouble for by the administration).

Although, I'm not sure why there would be any more investigating if the parent produced the receipt. So it looks like everyone is still in wait-and-see mode.

If the "82" in his screen name indicates the year he graduated, Little Kings and Swisher Sweets sound just about right

It is funny. I can remember pictures in my older brothers HS year books from Wisconsin (only had to be 18 to drink back then) Seniors having keg parties and inviting teachers.
609 woulda' loved to have been a teacher during the late 70's, in Wisconsin. He woulda been hooking up with even more students then now.
