I think Duke will win and cover the spread. Kansas just doesn't have the horses.

So, no one wants to talk about how Curry traveled TWICE on that play to Thornton?

OSU is better than Kansas, Michigan, Tennessee, Michigan State and Belmont, all of which have given Duke at least some problems. I'm not saying the Buckeyes will definitely beat Duke, but if those teams can "hang", so will Ohio State.

That's not even a minor detail when K is around. Can you imagine how many F bombs would have flown if that would have been called? Lol

Sorry, he traveled twice.Once when he caught the ball and shuffled his feet and another when he dribbled and lifted his pivot foot before the ball hit the ground. It wasn't nearly as bad as McRoberts moonwalk a couple of years ago, but a travel nonetheless.

BTW, let's not forget the no call on Kelly that should have been called a block.

The "Duke gets all the calls" powwow we have here in this thread is certainly amusing. Duke won the Maui Invitational for the fifth time in as many appearances on the island. You don't achieve that kind of success because of a couple of travels that may have went uncalled. There's a reason Duke has won five straight major preseason tournaments (Maui '07, Coaches vs. Cancer '08, NIT Season Tip-Off '09, CBE Classic '10 and Maui '11).

You achieve that level of greatness through preparation and execution, and it's as simple as that.

And lol, iron. It's a good thing Tyler Thornton morphed into Dale Ellis in the final minute of the game, or I'm afraid your plan would've worked.

duke doesn't get all the calls just the critical calls that take away the chances of their opponent winning a close game. If you want to beat duke you not let them hang around with a chance to win because they will be given every opportunity to do that.

LOL at the officials missing two traveling calls. They should be at the Citgo tomorrow.

When you're an elite program, you tend to get the benefit of the doubt on calls from time to time, especially in situations where the outcome of the game hangs in the balance. All of the top programs have benefited from this luxury of being really good and getting calls -- or non-calls -- that go their way at one point or another, including Kansas. It happens in every sport -- Michael Jordan was notorious for reaping this type of "respect"; Ohio State's football team has profited from it many times (the end of the Miami national championship game comes to mind) -- and is just a part of the game.
And how a North Carolina fan could ever make any comment about traveling after watching Tyler Hansbrough dance around the court like Tara Lipinski at the ice capades for fours years is beyond me. That's boisterously funny.

There should be no reason ever, that a team gets favorable calls. Call it the way the rules say. All this tells us is that officials want to be more a part of the game then they should be.

I agree with this. For the most part, however, I don't believe that officials make these sorts of calls that some fans view as preferential treatment with blatant favoritism in mind. Rather, as I said before, I think that officials just give higher profile teams that have a history of success the benefit of the doubt on certain calls that could perhaps go either way. And, of course, officials are not superheroes and do miss calls on occasion.

One non-call defined the game? Good try. Maybe someone should talk about how Taylor shouldn't turn the ball over ELEVEN times in one game.

As the legendary Mike Krzyzewski once said after a tournament game years ago, after a reporter asked him if he thought the officials favored Duke, "I sure hope so."

We Are Duke.

FT count doesn't matter. Duke is a jump shooting team. Do you need it explained to you why they don't shoot a lot of FTs?

LOL. Someone's a little sensitive. Calm down, Duke won the damn game because Kansas let Tyler Thornton beat them.

duke does shoot a lot of free throws. In this game they were in the bonus 8 minutes into the game and 10 minutes into the 2nd half. You are right in that the dukies shoot a ton of 3's, but they still get to the free throw line with alarming consistency.

Andre Sweet - Former Duke player - transferred to Seton Hall. Said this about Coach K and the refs:
'So, is it true? Does Duke really get all the calls?' " Sweet mimics. "I'm like, 'Of course, it's true. It's Duke.' It's Mike Krzyzewski. The refs were afraid of him. He could get you calls that no one else could get. That's part of playing for Duke.
