OSU literally had no coaching staff. Bruce was fired bwfore the UM game and Cooper wasnt hired till the end of bowl season.

That's true but they could have just elevated one of his assistants to the interim coach mode. I remember the whole Earle Bruce firing and the administration, in place at the time, just flat out didn't like him and wanted him out at all costs. Even if it meant depriving the kids of a chance to play in the Sun Bowl. Didn't the players vote to play in the Sun Bowl but were overrode by the then OSU president?

Something like that. Fun fact, technically Urban Meyer has been fired once already by OSU

Urban Meyer was a GA there, I think, so technically I don't know if he was fired.

Everyone was told to not come back. Its not like he lost a career job or anything, just thought it was funny. Doesnt mean anything though

He was a GA during his two years in Columbus, but he was also a position coach.

I assume Fickell will be on the sideline, and Meyer will be in the pressbox? However, I think he'll definitely be at all 15 practices.
