Might as well tell everyone that plays outside the B10, SEC, Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon and USC to pack it in... these are the only schools that matter because they play in front of a big crowd.
The BCS has a contract with 6 conferences. Name another BCS school outside of those "favored" ones you named who have gone through a season, NOT "shat the bed" at least once and got screwed.

The answer is...2. Auburn and Cincinnati. Outside of that, every other BCS school has had a chance if they just went unbeaten and everything else falls into place (it doesn't count if there are more than 2 unbeaten teams). Those 2 years, neither Auburn or Cincinnati deserved to be in spots 1 or 2.

The only unbeaten teams to play in non-title BCS games have been Utah 2004, Auburn 2004, Boise State 2006, Hawaii 2007, Utah 2008, Cincinnati 2008, Boise State 2009, TCU 2009 and TCU 2010.

One point win over Loiusianna Tech, 4 point win over UCLA, and giving up 42 to Utep.

That's got absolutely ZERO to do with deserving a title shot Einstein.

Disagree. TCU beat 2 BCS teams and a Utah team that won 10 games.

What if we just had a tournament of the top 8 teams? Sounds like the best way to pick who should go to the NC

I'm pretty sure that Northwestern get's into the championship game at that point.

No. The last time three teams from the same conference were ranked 1, 2, 3 was at the end of the 1971 season when the top three teams were in the Big 8.

If TCU wins out, it won't matter that Boise is higher than Houston in the BCS standings.
This just means that Boise wouldn't get an automatic bid into a BCS game, but they would be ranked high enough that a BCS bowl could still elect to select them as an at-large team, though that is unlikely to happen.

If that were the case then this weekend wouldn't have been nearly as fun. Yes, the upsets would have been fun to watch, but the consequences wouldn't have been as severe, making it less interesting. Most of the teams that got upset would still be looking at playoff spots.

There will be 2 SEC teams playing for the BCS title this year.

If LSU wins out it will be LSU/Alabama.

If LSU beats Arkansas and loses to Georgia, it will be Alabama/LSU, and Georgia will play the Big East Champion in the Sugar Bowl.

If Arkansas beats LSU and whoever ends up #1 beats Georgia, it will be Alabama/Arkansas.

If Arkansas beats LSU and whoever ends up #1 loses to Georgia, it will be LSU vs. the one who didn't play in the SEC title game, and Georgia will play the Big East Champion in the Sugar Bowl.

A conference can have 3 teams if they have 2 non-champions at #1 and #2.

Found this little nugget yesterday from Sporting News.
The BCS leaked information earlier this week—we’ll get into who did the leaking later—about a new proposal for the next BCS contract that begins with the 2014 season. The controversial series would align the top two teams and there would be an elimination of the automatic qualifier status.

The BCS wants you to know that it is considering eliminating the automatic qualifier status; that equalizing change that all non-BCS conferences and teams have longed to see implemented. What BCS officials don’t say is once that happens, it will be virtually impossible for the little guys of college football to break through.

Once the remaining bowls (including BCS bowls) are free to negotiate with any team or conference, the days of non-BCS teams—the Boise States of the world—playing in major bowls are over. No major bowl representative in his right mind is going to choose Boise State over Michigan.

Yeah, I mean I usually defend the honor of TCU, or Boise. Not happening here. Houston didn't beat anybody and the one school they beat that people have heard of (a bad UCLA), they just barely beat them.

Boise would deserve a shot before Houston. And even Boise doesn't deserve a title shot this year. (I personally would like to see them in a BCS game, but it won't happen)

Houston wouldn't get shut out. They pass the ball so much that they would catch a few breaks a game where the safety picks up the wrong go or the DB gets confused and Keenum would take advantage. I think they would score at least two TD's on LSU.

Houston struggled for a long time yesterday against SMU's defense. They won't be confused with LSU any time soon.

Houston is a nice story, but they didn't play a soul this year. I'm interested to watch them in their bowl game though. I'd like to see them play a Michigan or an Arkansas, but I doubt that happens. I really don't want to watch them 'Jerry Sandusky' a MAC school.
