Dude either straight up ignored his lawyer, or has the worst lawyer ever.
And I don't think there is any doubt he is absolutely insane. In fact, his lawyer may even plead for insanity.

What he says to the media shouldn't have any bearing on the selected jury, and I don't really get how it would work, but that was my best hypothesis.
The only other 2 things I could think of were a) he actually didn't do anything more than shower with children, which is still pretty inappropriate and seems highly unlikely or b) this is just his latest power play to continue demonstrating control over his victims, which is sadly possible.

But it would be in Sandusky's best interest to let this die down a bit, to stall in going to trial, motion for the trial to be moved to BFE Alaska and hope for some semblance of a fair trial.
Going on national TV and admitting everything but the anal penetration? Dumb as hell.
Not that I'm upset by any means, this asshole barely deserves a trial. I'm all for bringing back the guillotine on this guy.

This case night be harder to prove than one might think. OJ...DNA splattered all over the crime scene. Sandusky...no DNA nor other forensic evidence.
They will probably need collaborating witnesses to the same crime. I'm not sure they can do this. A bunch of "he said..he said" going on.
As for McQueary, a good lawyer can do a bunch of digging and lay the seed that McQueary had an agenda against Sandusky...maybe dating back to his playing days. Also, the defense lawyer will play up the "you saw an anal rape, and you didn't report it to the police?"..."Lying bastard!"

Plus the biggest charge in the case has no known victim and was 10 years ago.
