I don't know for sure, but why does Mooney have trouble scheduling a 10 game season. If you say public schools are scared to schedule your squad you would be right. They would probably never make the playoffs. Local school system just can't match the talent level you have year end and year out. Some teams including Dover can't afford going 8-2 and risking a lose, and not getting in the playoffs. Then add a conference in the mix and it gets harder. Look at Marlington this year. So we get one shot a year playing a team like Mooney. Even then it is necessary to climb the ladder in the playoffs and not meet you to early in the playoffs and let experience take it's course. Dover has a couple talented kids but that's just dumb luck, most of them are kids that just have a love for the game and like to hit.. Some years the talent pool is slime pickings. It's not an excuse it's reality.
