I don't know for sure, but why does Mooney have trouble scheduling a 10 game season. If you say public schools are scared to schedule your squad you would be right. They would probably never make the playoffs. Local school system just can't match the talent level you have year end and year out. Some teams including Dover can't afford going 8-2 and risking a lose, and not getting in the playoffs. Then add a conference in the mix and it gets harder. Look at Marlington this year. So we get one shot a year playing a team like Mooney. Even then it is necessary to climb the ladder in the playoffs and not meet you to early in the playoffs and let experience take it's course. Dover has a couple talented kids but that's just dumb luck, most of them are kids that just have a love for the game and like to hit.. Some years the talent pool is slime pickings. It's not an excuse it's reality.

So Stubbers has won championships but the fans still act like azzes. So what are you trying to say, Ablab?

I would prefer Dover fans stop complaining about the public/private BS. Is it an equal playing field between the publics and privates? Obviously not. Is it annoying that some of the private school fans act like their aren't built in advantages to being a private high school? Absolutely. Does complaining about it do any good come Friday night? No. Just accept the fact that Mooney is going to have an advantage when it comes to the talent on the field and deal with it. Hopefully our boys play their rears off and continue to roll on offense and get a few stops on defense. And if somehow we manage to slay the giant, odds are we will have to face another parochial institution either this year or next. Either that, or start having "open houses" for prospective students entering the 7th, 8th and 9th grades.

Despite what others will have you believe, this thread involves the two worst fanbases here on the chatter.

Sal the barber has Mooney by 15 now. Dover won't roll over, but Mooney will run them over.

It will be a high scoring game ... Mooney runs a 1930's type offense and defense . They just have superior athletes .. they will try and run over Dover .. that little back of Mooneys is very good and watch the cut backs .. Im still sick and disgusted but Big Red beat the snot out of them and got penalised for hitting to hard .. mooney diodnt need any help but they got it .. Good luck dover your facing an all star team .. i hope Big Red softened them up for you but if your D line cant atleast make them punt a couple of times you are in trouble .. They actually have a decent passing attack but we might have taken out a few of there wideouts ... Stand strong my fellow public school punch them in the face everytime they punch you Dont ever quit not for one second .. just keep punching them

...but we don't get to play big red because THEY LOST, so suck it up!

big red lost! Has an interesting ring ring to it doesn't it? Sounds almost as good as "big red lost to Dover" and we heard that last year.
Now if we could just get to "mooney lost to Dover" yet this year!

I am getting a strong feeling this will be like Avon Lake 2008. Avon Lake had huge linemen, big fast bruising backs,a secondary that could knock you out, great coaching. And it was all true they had all that, but Dover went up and battled all night refused to go away even when down a couple scores a few times they just kept chopping wood kept battling until they scored the knockout. I am sure many of you Dover fans saw that game and many other contest where the belief our boys have that they can win sometimes allows them to accomplish the impossible. I think we have that belief going into friday, will this be another epic win?

I BELIEVE GO DOVER!!!!

Does not matter ..just have your guys ready for a street fight and tell them to keep punching and punching .. Just hit them as hard as you can and keep doing it .. inflict as much pain as you possibly can .. you might just win.. If the refs let you play and not feel sorry for them

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. His hands can't hit what his eyes can't see. Now you see me, now you don't. Mooney thinks he will, but I know they won't. Mooney gonna be smokin' an' I ain't even jokin but I'll be peckin' and a pokin' and I'll pour water on that smokin'. Now this might astound and amaze ya but Dover is gonna beat you. It's lack of faith that makes people afraid of meeting challenges, and Dover believes in themselves. Champions aren't made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: a desire, a dream, a vision.
GO DOVER BEAT THEM ALL AND LET GOD SORT IT OUT

D"it's-week-13-so-as-usual-our-season-is"OVER Tornadoes: regional runners up has a familiar ring to it. Doesn't it?

I've never been to Coldwater but Diver runs a spread offense, is proud of their homegrown, community boys. Fans wear a lot of Carhardt clothing. But Coldwater wins stuff. That's what I meant by Diver being the poor man's Coldwater.

You spelled "Steubenville is sitting at home this week" wrong.
