Topic to talk about this w/e's games and not the PSU scandal. Who do got winning in the Stanford vs Oregon game, Boise vs. TCU game, VT vs GT, Nebraska vs PSU, and OK St vs Texas Tech?

Oregon, Boise, VT, Neb, OK St for me. (toss ups for every game but Oregon game and OK St game).

Texas Tech has gotten murdered by Iowa State (41-7) and Texas (52-20) since beating Oklahoma. I'm interested to see what the hell happens in Lubbock this weekend. It will either be a WTF sitaution where TT somehow keeps it close or it will be an absolute throttling by OSU, I'm talking a 50+ point win (might hang 70+ on them) where OSU wants to make a statement about the team who beat OU.

TCU/Boise is interesting, because it should be a quality game, but it really has no impact on the national stage as even an unbeaten Boise State team isn't going to be impressive enough to go the distance. If TCU was unbeaten or even had only 1 loss, it might look better, but losing to an average Baylor team and an ugly loss at home to SMU makes the game nothing more than entertainment. Boise won't get any credit when they win.

Georgia Tech/Virginia Tech is interesting because it's on Thursday night, but outside of that, who cares. Georgia Tech probably wins IMO, but it's still the ACC. The winner will get a chance to win the ACC-CG and add to their pathetic record in BCS games.

Penn State and Nebraska, I don't care about the game, but will watch just to see what the spectacle is like at the stadium. Will fans cheer? Will fans care? Will everyone show up? It will be a highly-covered event for a lot of wrong reasons.

West Virginia and Cincinnati, this should be a shootout. Definitely worth watching IMO if you want to see some offense. Same goes with Kansas State and Texas A&M. Not a big deal nationally, but two pretty quality games with fairly evenly matched teams.

Miami and Florida State. Both down, again, but still a good rivalry.

Other decent games include Auburn/Georgia, Michigan State/Iowa, Michigan/Illinois, Texas/Missouri, Florida/South Carolina and Washington/USC.

Definitely some quality entertainment games this week after a few weeks that have been a bit down.

I'm curious to see if everyone still thinks Alabama/LSU are the best two teams in the country after seeing what Stanford/Oregon looks like this weekend.

Stanford would have to whip Oregon to put them in the same level, IMO. LSU whipped Oregon at a neutral site while Stanford plays Oregon at Stanford. You wont even categorize them as a top 5 team after this w/e.

I agree that you have to consider that LSU beat Oregon at a neutral site and Stanford is playing them at home. If Oregon beats Stanford, I'll be more impressed with LSU than I am now.

They will probably lose to Oregon.

Can I get you on the record saying that Notre Dame beating Stanford would actually be an impressive victory for the first time in 20+ years though?

Certainly the best since a close loss to USC in 2005. ;)

Notre Dame won't beat Stanford, so that would be meaningless.

LSU played an Oregon that had half their team missing and has gotten much much better than they were at the start of the season. You can't compare the two.

Yes, if Notre Dame beats Stanford it would be a meaningful win. They won't, and it won't be close.

Stanford will not lose to Oregon, and will definitely not lose to ND. I've got Stanford playing LSU in the NC, with the winner being....

I like Oregon over Stanford. Boise should win pretty easily. TCU is alright this year but not the same TCU of the past 3 seasons.

The Penn State/Nebraska game should be interesting.

I wonder if Pelini, or the Nebraska athletic office, has asked for extra security at the stadium. The atmosphere will be charged, it's on national TV, the crowd of 100K+ will be emotional (and a lot of 'em drunk) To me, this is a recipe for something bad to happen. I can just imagine the crowd chanting "JoePa, JoePa", and then a bunch of drunk students start rushing the field, followed by thousands more, and then...damn.

I'm sure Nebraska has asked for increased security. But after last night I'm sure Penn State was planning on it anyway.

I almost feel like it would be more surprising if something ridiculous didn't happen at some point.

Good game going on.

Luck throws a bad int and Oregon scores soon thereafter.

8-0 on a cool 2 point conversion.

Oregon is at -1 yards for the game on offense.
