In two different night log sites, under a VC attack I fired a 50 Cal (air cooled) until the barrel melted (the rounds came out rolling ).....no cook off Thank God ... switched out the barrels in 2 minutes which seemed like a life time... mofo was hot..
Would have been sweet to have a 50Cal Sniper Weapon in Nam. our Snipers used M14/ Starlite Scope and Silencers... My best friend was a Sniper he and I worked together a lot. </SPAN>
