This is the story.
Someone backed into me so their insurance has to pay for my repair and rental. They said we use enterprise. We have had issues in the past with them.
We reserve a car for a weekend and they don't have the car when it's time.
We said ok but were nervous about it.
Well we drop off the car and the enterprise guy shows up and tells us they have zero cars only a big chevy truck that gets about 10 miles to a gallon. We got a small car to save money on gas. That morning they had several cars and by 10AM the reservation we had (made 3 weeks in advance) was useless. This has happened more than once with this company and I know three other people that this happened to.
so if you need to rent a car save yourself some hassle and go somewhere else.
We called Hertz and they had what we needed.

Just rented with them for over a week. Had absolutely no problem. Even gave me a 2 level, free upgrade from what I should have got.

They would have vehicles other than pickup trucks in that area?

I get a discount through work with them, so I think I'll keep using them despite your problem of not being able to drive a truck.

Is there insurance going to pay for it if you don't use enterprise?

I've never rented a car because I'm responsible and never been in a car accident.

Hope this helps.

I've had that problem before on vacation. Reserve a convertible weeks in advance, get there and they are like "we have a nice compact we can put you in"

You shouldn't have been sitting there then.

I've rented a car. Not because I was in a car wreck, but because I went on vacation and did something with my life other than sit on the internet and be a douche bag all day.

Hope this helps.

I'll use whatever service is gives the highest value at the lowest cost. If that's enterprise, then so be it.

I've rented from Enterprise about a dozen times (and a few times from the others). Enterprise can be rather manic. If they're low on cars in an area, it can be mind-numbing trying to get a car. Last time I rented from Enterprise was back in June and of all the places in Spokane, I get the one whose manager refuses to honor the 'we'll pick you up' promise. Oh, they'll pick me up 10 miles away from their office. But, only if it's ten miles in the direction they pick people up at. If you're ten miles on the opposite side 'that's another offices territory and you should rent with them'. When told that office doesn't have any cars, they say they still can't go 8 miles south even though their company policy (which the asshole stated to me after I complained) is ten miles one-way. But, he wasn't going to do it.

Haven't had the need to rent a car since then. So, not sure if I'd go with Enterprise again or not.
