I said Ohio State's player average isn't even top five. According to 247, which has Ohio State's class ranked #4, their player average is 9th. Hell, on Scout and 247 both, mythical Notre Dame has a better average.

Alabama, Texas, and Florida State's classes are untouchable. Those are the best classes.
Texas, Florida State, even ND's classes have been rated this high for years and yet they don't win. Ratings by people who haven't even seen most of these kids play don't mean much. It looks good on paper to say your school has a top 2 or 3 recruiting class but in reality performance on the field is what counts, look a Shugarts, he was a 5* recruit and he will be remembered only for false starting 2 times every game. While Orlando Pace a 5* was worth every star and more. I haven't seen Khalis play a lot but what little I've seen, he is more Shugarts than Pace so let's respect his choice of schools and see what happens.

To be fair, Pace may be the best LT to ever play college football, so you can't really expect even 5* recruits to do what he did.

But, you don't turn around and talk about blood on the field that isn't yours and bloody jersey's lol...just shut up and move along. I highly doubt other players that have changed their mind and went elsewhere didn't also receive ill wishes (in fact I read about a few that had but don't remember them off hand) and went on the offensive. This guy providing bulletin board material before he gets fitted for shoulder pads lol.
It's ok to flip and then dress as your former coach at Halloween though.

I would be willing to bet this clown isn't even on the travel squad for this game. Hell, if I read it right, he doesn't even have the date correct. If this guy is a playing as a freshman, then either the injury bug has hit...or UM isn't in a good place on the OL.

UM doesn't have much depth. He'll play. (Thanks RRod)

What does UM have returning on the right side? Do you think he'll start at RG?

Correct, but I am allowed to have my own independent opinion from simply watching film. Florida State's last two classes will put them back to where they were in the 1990's soon enough.

My honest opinion of Ohio State's class is that they have a good amount of bona fide studs mixed in with recruits who simply won't perform at the level Meyer expects. I think a few of the early commitments aren't very good, but Meyer has cleaned up lately getting a mixture of guys that Tressel would have gotten anyway and adding in some studs who wouldn't have looked at Ohio State without Meyer. Meyer is an undeniable celebrity in the college football world, much bigger than Tressel ever was (outside of Ohio).

I expect Ohio State to have the #1 class in America next year, but I think this class has too many mediocre guys to be considered 1 or 2. I simply think that claim is ridiculous. The class that Alabama has is crazy.

I think you're making a few assumptions here, but generally what you say is true. Talent does not equal wins. Talent, a little good fortune, and good coaching equals wins. Ohio State has had great coaches and a near-monopoly on Ohio talent for decades, and it shows in the quality of teams nearly every year.

In other cases, say the teams from South Bend and Tallahassee, the talent level wasn't necessarily a problem as they've still managed to put a very respectable amount of guys in the NFL, but the coaching was, generally speaking, pretty shitty. Notre Dame has 27 guys in the NFL right now. That isn't bad. Ohio State has 44, but they were probably the #2-4 program of the last decade. I don't want another Notre Dame rant to ensue, but too many people are ignorant and assume Notre Dame was pathetic the last decade when quite honestly they were "above average" and nothing more or less.

I don't think he'll start unless he comes in and tears shit up. But he'll definitely be in the 2 deep. At OG they have Barnum, Omameh and Mealer. Mealer is not much of a threat. Omaneh is ok but not great, and Barnum is slightly better than him. I expect Schofield to take over for Huyge at OT. But depth wise, they are hurting.

Omameh is genuinely terrific person though. I know him personally. Sad to see him graduate I enjoyed watching him play.

He'll be back for 1 more go. But from all the vids and what people say of him, he is a great kid. He is certainly servicable on the line. A bit undersized for a Hoke offense. He started out good in fall camp and fell off a bit. He'll need to step it up a notch next year.

I would agree with that statement. There are some kids in this class that probably would not be there had Meyer been in charge for the whole period. Someone else posted that they thought there were some "nervous reaches" by the staff at that time to try and lock up kids during the scandal, simply because everyone was completely unaware how recruiting would be hurt. I can also agree with that. No doubt this will be a very nice incoming class, but I can only imagine how good a class can be once Urban Meyer has stamped his seal on a program after having it for a full year. What Meyer has accomplished in less than 2 months is quite amazing.

Cam Williams will be the next commit. Just a matter of time. The big question is Reeves and if they announce together or not.

I was unaware that he'll be back, that is great to hear.

Well I wouldn't post 90% of the pure malarkey I do on OSU threads if durrrrrrkie, ccrunner, and the like could go a few news events involving Notre Dame without getting on ND threads and making an ass of themselves too.

Agreed.

Personally, I think Reeves will be a Buckeye. I know Michigan fans, however, think he is theirs. Should be interesting.
