Think most expect o'conner to
Committ, I think it was whether or not they were offering him the spot.

I could be thinking of the wrong guy though too.

Here is what Alex from 11Warriors thinks this class will end up
On road from Baltimore but: -Taylor Decker is a Buckeye -Joey O'Connor will be a Buckeye soon in my opinion since he WAS offered -David Perkins LOVED his visit but is taking visits to Cal and Illinois before deciding. I think he was told to hold off on committing for now until the staff decides if he is a commitable offer. -heard Neal's visit went well....not much more here yet -Cam Williams and Armani Reeves visit Wednesday. With two CBS booted today I expect a Reeves offer made firm and both commit to OSU. -my updated predictions are Dodson, Reeves, Williams, O'Connor, Neal and either Perkins or Diamond, maybe both

If he was releasing kids just because... I'd agree. But releasing a kid who's just got a drunk driving arrest and has prior trouble and a kid who beat the piss out of his gf doesn't really fit that.

Yeah, uh not quite. They broke the rules and got sent packing. They weren't third string juniors with a hip pointer. THAT'S what = SEC

I just hope we get Davonte Neal. :-) He'd be our version of Florida's Jeff Demps.

As much as I hate to see Clarke go, it's nice to see Urban instilling some discipline into the program and dispelling the rumors about his lack of said discipline. At some schools, an OVI after a previous arrest would be a slap on the wrist. Urban could have sent him to Stradley Hall for a semester and made him get good grades, but he booted him to prove he meant business. I'm sure Clarke will catch on someone and become a productive player. He is very talented.

BTW, Neal called his visit to OSU "the best one yet."

However, his dad did say he may not select a college until March.

March.

Not going to give Urban too much credit. He had nothing invested in the kid. And at this point, I am not sure he had a choice. He won't admit it, but he had send a message. After all that went down in this program the past year and half, Urban had no choice but to do what he did. Anything less, and it would have been questioned.

Haha, honestly that was my first thought as well. As long as Urban is consistent it's ok with me.

Timing is everything? If he did this a month ago or when he first got the job, it would have been perfectly fine--hell, I'd commend the guy because the program needs a lot of discipline. But he did it right before recruiting "crunch time" to have available spaces in my opinion.

You think that was the reasoning? Perhaps, but it wasn't his only motivation.

got to love the conspiracy theorists. Didnt know Clarke got his OVI a month ago? News to me. Some think Clarke had potential to be the 2nd best CB on the team.

I mean, we could be like Notre Dame and keep players for having multiple DUIs

Timing? First of all, settling a couple off the field issues isn't exactly on the front burner when you have a coaching staff to hire and recruits to recruit, maybe it should be in your eyes? but I won't say in his eyes it should.

Second, and more importantly, Ohio State isn't exactly in the position to be coddling players for breaking the law let alone breaking team rules. We're kinda in the doghouse with the NCAA in case you've forgotten.

Notre Dame suspended star wide receiver Michael Floyd indefinitely Monday, a day after he was cited for drunken driving and authorities said his blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. . . It was Floyd's third run-in with the law over alcohol since 2009.
I guess it isn't multiple DUI's. . . but it still doesn't look good when one player has 3 alcohol related arrests over a period of 2 years. He's basically one hood jumping/tasering by police incident away from Alex Boone territory. Or. . .

You can't blame some ND fans for being pissed. OSU pilfers a couple of coaches, and now a coveted player--I'd be throwing shit around too!!!
