Notre Lame barely beat a "bad" Wake Forest team.

another year, another mediocre Irish team.

hah reps indeed for manning up.

Notre Dame certainly didn't look pretty, and I was expecting them to look damn good. I thought Wake was a bunch of frauds, but maybe they aren't. They did beat Florida State.

I don't think Wake Forest is a bad team, I think they're very average and played their A game. I think Notre Dame played their C+ game, and the injuries on defense (Te'o and the entire DL all out, using third-string DE's and LB's at DE to compensate) definitely showed.

But, and since you don't know a lot about football I am indeed asking this seriously....you do realize college football teams are extremely capricious and you shouldn't take much out of one game, right? Look at these scores:

2002: OSU vs Cinci 23-19; OSU vs NW 27-16; OSU vs Purdue 10-6, OSU vs Illinois 23-16.
2003: OSU vs SDSU 16-13; OSU vs BGSU 24-17; OSU vs Purdue 16-13
2004: OSU vs Marshall 24-12; OSU vs NCSt 22-14;
2006: OSU vs Illinois 17-10
2008: OSU vs Ohio 26-14; OSU vs Illinois 30-20
2009: OSU vs Navy 31-27
2010: OSU vs Illinois 24-13

It happened to every team every team where there is a case in which they don't dominate an inferior opponent. And after each case there is a naysayer who doesn't know what he's talking about. In this instance, it is you.

I'm not concerned both Maryland and bc are terrible. As long as he plays against Stanford I'll be ok.

On a side note if nd wins out they will likely get a bid to a bcs bowl if they can sneak into the top 14 of the bcs

Not likely at all, but still possible. They are going to need to win convincingly the next two weeks and beat Stanford to have a chance.

Stopped reading at this point because ND has been mediocre all year.

15-12 victory over 4-4 Pittsburgh? LOL.

Enjoy your San Diego County Credit Union bowl loss.

I know it's way too early for bowl predictions, but it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for OSU and ND to hook up in a bowl game..it'd be a HUGE payday for some lucky city

Only chance of that happening is in a BCS game. Not going to happen.

Notre Dame will be in the Champs Sports Bowl against an ACC team. They can only take ND 1 time every 3 years and there aren't going to be any Big East teams more attractive than ND this year.

I'm fine with this. They should be fine the next two weeks and they'll need T'eo with two good wheels and his A-game to have a shot against Stanford.

USC played Stanford down to the wire. It depends entirely on how ND ends up playing on that day. Turn the ball over a few times, give Luck short field, well then obviously they don't have a shot. But its not like Stanford looks like a juggernaut, stranger things have certainly happened.

Well I think Stanford will win, why would I bet that?

But I certainly think Notre Dame can win if they play their best game. It will be even tougher without Cave, Lewis-Moore and possibly more.
