Picking Mooney to win the whole darn thing. Why waste the bus trip? I guess we will get to play at a nice looking facility at least. I have never been there, but it looks like a nice venue. Plenty of seats unlike STA.

:laugh:Northwest against Mooney reminds me of Galion against Mooney back in '88 I think it was. No one gave Galion a rats butt of a chance but by golly, Galion came out on top, 7-0. I tell you, if Northwest wins this game, it will be the biggest win in school history!

It was '85

And it was 6-0

Bo Pelini was Mooney's QB

It was a massive defensive struggle

I don't expect that this week. Maybe 70 total points who knows

Congrats to NW for a great season. See you Friday, Safe travels

Ohio;951357 wrote:Red Lion was the only team that really ran the spread 5 wide and it wasnt their base offense, Mckinley had success in the first half throwing against mooney but other then that they have stacked up very well, the thing with mooney is they always have the skill in the front 7 and Love at the linebacker position is a mis match for 90 percent of the teams in ohio regardless of division... With that being said i look for mooney to slow the game down and pound the rock because thats what mooney football is all about.
Teams that have good ball control are the teams that make it deep into the playoffs.....NW can't score if they don't have the ball.....IMO NW will have to step it up and give Riley time to throw and hopefully make some big plays to keep NW in the game.

Yeah, thanks for the correction. Honestly, both teams made to the playoffs so they are both dangerous. Should be a whale of a game!:o

Good luck to both teams this week ! Canal N.W. is the underdog in this game & will face an uphill battle against Mooney.
If we all go by strength of schedule then Mooney should have no problem winning this game. Canal will come to play & I hope makes
this a better game then everyone thinks it will be.
Here are the match-ups for week #11 & what will happen for week #12

#1 Big Red/#8 Creek winner plays the winner of #4 Mooney/#5 Canal N.W.

#2 Dover/#7 Sheridan winner plays the winner of #3 Minerva/#6 Poland

I wouldn't be surprised if both Mooney and Poland win they play next week at Fitch. That game will bring a huge gate. You already know that the Big Red gate is going to be good no matter who they play. I think they would try to set up a regional final between Big Red and Mooney. That way you get two huge gates if you're the OHSAA.

If any team can beat this juggernaut private school its a team that runs the 5 wide perfect. Please don't start with the bubble screen they will be expecting it and pick it. Although a quick pump and go deep would be cool. TE over the middle and fast would be the safest thing. Keep the pocket moving and protect the one with the golden arm. GOOOOOOOOOOO NW!!!

If Jesus was coaching against this team he would run the 5 wide spread!!

I can see 'ol Vic pulling out the bag o' tricks this week. Good coaching can overcome superior talent if the kids are put in the right situations to make plays. In the last 5 years I have been at every game, and I can not remember a situation where our kids looked overmatched, even when we were playing statistically better teams. I may not agree with his mindset, or some of his playcalling, but if Vic does one thing right it is preparation and using the talent that he has in the best possible way. I think that those calling for a Mooney rout have not seen NW lately. It is an absolute joy to watch Beers run, and Riley has one of the best looking arms I have seen. I must admit though, my guilty pleasure is when they hand it to the fullback on those quick traps and he trucks 3 or 4 people on his way to a 15 yard gain. That is just fun to watch! I am so excited for Friday I can hardly stay in my seat. LET'S GO TRIBE!

Like Rocket08 said, the brackets are set & the winner of the Big Red/Creek game plays the winner of the Mooney/Canal N.W. game.

Right but make no mistake Red Riders playing in Week 12 and Northwest isnt! Our schedule speaks for itself. We went 7-3, kicked NW butt and are hosting a game this Saturday.

Sorry..but if the Red Riders were matched up with Mooney in Week 11...they would be sitting at home during week 12 too. The schedules have nothing to do with it.
