I got married. Hard to believe it has been 19yrs. I know there are some on the OC that have been married longer. Hopefully the voice makes it to 19yrs.

only way that happens is if we both go into a coma for the next 17 years, 11 months and 18 days.majorspark;936543 wrote:I got married. Hard to believe it has been 19yrs. I know there are some on the OC that have been married longer. Hopefully the voice makes it to 19yrs.
Congrats though! Long standing marriages are the foundation of a great society. My grandparents were maried 69.6 years, parents pushing 40 years and we have a long standing history on our sides of the family of long standing marriages. I think of all my uncles and aunts, cousins and all there has been only one divorce.
I think that is one of the reasons why the trigger hasnt been pulled yet with me, the stigma of failure.

Failure on whose part? If you made a mistake, bail and start over. (I forget, do you have kids?)thavoice;936558 wrote:I think that is one of the reasons why the trigger hasnt been pulled yet with me, the stigma of failure.

Failure on my part. I am not good at failing, and this would be my ultimate failure in life. No, no kids.Sonofanump;936562 wrote:Failure on whose part? If you made a mistake, bail and start over. (I forget, do you have kids?)

I agree. Tell her to join the chatter and you won't have to pull the trigger, everyone else will help her do it herself.

Well, according to her, she has already spent the money already and filed 3-4 times already and isnt going to spend any more money doing it again. Apparently, according to her, it is only valid for 30 days when you file.OneBuckeye;936638 wrote:I agree. One of the times she kept reminding me that 'maybe the sheriff will drop off the divorce papers at your work today'. Did that for almost a week so I said fuck it and emailed him. (I know him well enough to ask) and he said there was none to be delivered, and checked with the courthouse and said nothing was even filed).
but anyways............
.......

One of my good friends is now a manager at DFAS and he was telling me about one of his employees getting served with divorce papers at work and how miserable it was. The building is a secure building on a secure military base that local law has no authority on. So basically, the person getting served will get called to a meeting room that has 2 MP's, the Sherrif who is providing the service and the employee's manager. talk about embarassingthavoice;936648 wrote:One of the times she kept reminding me that 'maybe the sheriff will drop off the divorce papers at your work today'. Yeah I look ridiculous with that thing. Back in the late eighty's and early 90's I thought it made me look like a stud. I reeled in at least one women with it. Sport the clean shaven look today. Although a lot of the hair up top is gone now as well.LJ;936698 wrote:LOLstache

That would suck. I decided to email the sheriff because that day a deputy parked out front where I work, came into the building and my heart was thumping something fierce. He came on in but it was for his own personal business and right after that I said F it and emailed and asked.LJ;936703 wrote:One of my good friends is now a manager at DFAS and he was telling me about one of his employees getting served with divorce papers at work and how miserable it was. Def not a way to live a life. I just call her bluff nowadays. The first time was last december when she told me one day before I was going on a week long field training exercise where she knew I was going to be out of contact. Luckily I was level headed enough to get through it though as it was a week of getting 2 hours a sleep a night and such. It made me mad and I think that is what helped me not fall asleep some nights on watch.
