Kinda lame.

However, the Coaches voted here. Not surprising they awarded the only Senior.

Tom Izzo for COY is even more head scratching...

Kansas wasn't in the top 15 in most publications.

Also, Izzo has the "POY" on his team, so shouldn't that diminish his coaching a bit?

Bill Self is more deserving. Self's team is 1 game away from a title. Izzo got smashed by a 4-seed...

I disagree. MSU had more talent than KU. Far more. Izzo had 2 things working for him.

1. He was coming off a complete debacle. A year when they were ranked preseason top 10 and they totally sucked. That really put expectations low coming into this year.

2. Derrick Nix, 4-star. Keith Appling, 4-star (MCDAA), Adreian Payne, 5-star (MCDAA), Branden Dawson, 5-star (MCDAA) and oh yes, like I mentioned, the NPOY (according to this publication).

MSU did not overachieve nor did Izzo have an insanely great coaching year. He had a good year, yes, not great, not NCOY worthy.

Because he's an athletic 7'1, yeah. I don't think he'll do much in the NBA, but someone will gamble on his potential.

Hey I'm not saying I'd draft him or be a KU homer, hell I wouldn't take him 1st round if I were an NBA GM lol my original post said something about I saw at least one 2013 mock draft where he went like 28 overall. You apparently have a huge issue w/ that, i donno

I wasn't just like "HEY KAREN, I SAW WITHEY WENT FIRST ROUND IN A MOCK DRAFT, HE'LL GO THERE"

I just said KU has 4 potential future 1st round picks on their team. One of them is Withey because he's 7 foot tall, shoots 82% from the FT line, and has decent game.

Ok you obviously have an issue with my opinion when you bring it up on some fucking bum from Illinois because he is 7 feet tall. Withey can block shots and is bad outside of that.

I don't have an "issue" with your opinion, I just don't think you really know how "potential" works in the NBA draft. Kosta Fucking Koufas went first round. 68 7 footers have gone in the 1st round since 1990.

The Koufus point was that he was fucking terrible, but went mid-20's because he was 7 feet and had "potential"
