Duncan played a large part of his career side by side with the likes of Robert Horry, Malik Rose and Matt Bonner.
If you don't want to technically label him a 5, that's fine. But he has always been the Spurs player that controlled the paint and was the biggest player on the floor for them.

SMH... You do know that sometimes a player plays a different position because its best for the team right? It just shows how great Duncan was that he could guard other teams centers as well as their PFs. I mean do you think Lebron is a PG since he bascially was one in Cleveland? Or what about if Dwight Howard goes to the Lakers and they get rid of Gasol and move Bynum to the 4 does that make Bynum a PF? The answers are no btw.

Your Lebron comment fits into my argument. It's really a technicality, so it's not worth debating here. But Duncan has always been the Spurs player in the paint. Back to Sullinger. The two guys mentioned before we're Horford and Love, both all star caliber CENTERS. That is exactly why I think Sullinger should focus on that position. He could be a top center within a few years. And yes, he could still potentially guard a PF.

Duncan was a throwback 4.
A 4 who still had a back-to-the-basket game. He developed a mid-range game as well. Who he guarded or where he was on the floor didn't change what position he played.

Ok, back to the Buckeyes. I expect the 6th man this year to get as many minutes as say the 4th and 5th starter. Matta likes to bring in a "energy" guy in the 3rd or 4th minute of the game. That being said, Thomas, Scott or maybe Williams may fit that role. Matta traditionally has a few guys that almost never come off the court and Buford, Sully and Craft will probably be Matta's 40 min "Iron Men".

Student tickets just sold out in under 45 minutes! Year 2 of the nuthouse being on the sidelines should help OSU's usually lacking (though that's more the fault of the building itself than the fans) home court advantage.

Idk how gaining weight would make Sully more effective in the Pros? The 4 position (which Duncan played btw) is now dominated by long, athletic, quick players. Very few back to the basket players anymore. This is why I wonder if Sully will transition smoothly to the NBA. Because I really cant see him hanging with the athletic 4's in the league (Amare, Griffin, Bosh, Hickson, Jefferson, ect). Guess i'll have to see how hes improved over the summer.

Love Titus speaking up about the ticket situation. I don't necessarily agree with him (the students weren't showing up until they moved their seats), but I enjoy guys that are not scared of speaking their minds.
Agree that Craft, Buford and Sully are 35+ minute guys. Will be interesting to see where the other minutes go.

Yea I understand. The thing with the evolution of the NBA is that the regular season is all about an up and down pace. But the playoffs are all about the half court. Go Bucks! Glad the NBA is on strike and hope they lose the whole season like the NHL a few years back. I would watch the Bucks over a NBA game any day of the week. Sully for president!

I understand what dynasty is trying to say, there are very few back to the basket big men anymore, most of those guys listed are not back to the basket type players.
