Florida State (currently 2-3)- The Seminoles were everybody's pick to win the ACC. I heard a lot of the talking heads predicting these guys making it to the NCG.
Ohio State (3-3)- if we're being totally honest, you have to put them on the list. Sure we knew they were not going undefeated this year, but the way they have performed has been a surprised.
The U (2-3)- Like OSU, they have a lot of off the field issues that plague the program. That being said, they were still a lot of buyers for this squad in the national media. Miami might struggle to finish in the top half of the ACC when it is all said and done.
Pitt- (2-3) This program it seems under achieves every year. They recruit great talent (see the NFL rosters for names like Fitzgerald, Shady McCoy, Revis, et al.) and every year are predicted to coast through the Big East only to fail. Rutgers just handed them their lunch.
TCU (5-2) - They lost a lot from last season and I knew they were not going to be as strong as they were in the past few years. However, that did not stop people from putting the Horned Frogs in their preseason top 10. TCU will likely finish with eight or nine wins, which is not bad though.

The only teams I'd add to your list are Mississippi State (0-3 in conference play after a preseason top 25 ranking) and Missouri. I would say Utah's been disappointing, but they've been without their QB for the last 1.5 games and just been terrible without him so I'm not sure they meet the same standard.

Can we add overachievers as well? Wake Forest comes to mind.

Speaking of WF, has anyone watched The 5th Quarter? Good football movie based on a true story.

Gawd, I totally bought Florida State. Knew Oklahoma would be tough, but figured if they could sneak away with that one they could skate through that weak ass ACC. Obviously none of this happened, so fuck you Iliketurtles.

I might add Notre Dame, I understand that they're playing better but I heard a lot of talk about them running the table this year.

For underachievers, the list has to begin and end with Florida State. So disappointed in the Seminoles this season. I keep touting them and they just keep letting me down.

I'm going to add UK.

I know they aren't a football school...but their fans have really talked them up this year. They started 2-0 (Western Kentucky and Central Michigan) only to go 0-4 after (Louisville, Florida, LSU, and South Carolina).

They were touted as going 6-4 or 7-3 this year...which I guess may be achievable since they do have WEAK conference games left (Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Georgia and Tennessee).

The only people who were talking up UK were their fans. Heck, if you go onto a Indiana board, I bet they had morons who predicted they would win the B10 this year. I was going from a national perspective.

LOL I guess I deserve that being the only FSU fan that I know of on the site... trust me I hate how they lost to Clemson and even more Wake Forest. The only thing I have left to hope for now is for FSU to beat Florida :).

I'd argue that even their fans didn't talk them up. I go to UK and EVERYONE expected them to be awful. Morgan Newton has been pathetic throughout his career and we lost our entire receiving core and running back. The defense that we brought back was slow and undersized, minus Danny Trevathan.

Last year on the other hand, we talked up the shit out of them.

If The U could win a close game they would be at the top of the overachiever list.
I believe all three losses have been decided with under two minutes in the final quarter.
Keep the game close and you will win(or they will lose if you want to look at it that way).

I know you go to UK...but basically all of my friends and their friends and my in-laws are all UK fans. They are diehards. My in-laws have season tickets and tailgate every game -- have been for YEARS.

This year there were some pretty big expectations. This goes beyond just my friends and their friends and my in-laws...I heard it a lot. I figure Joker doesn't have much left in him...

I do slightly agree with you...but who have you heard that from? Surely no one on here.
