Norwayne has Northwestern I believe Friday but I do not see that being to close as I think the guards for the bobcats will be to much, I could be wrong though. I think Hillsdale has the best shot at giving Norwayne a game but I am just not sure if they are built for it. The bobcats have many interior options with Davis, Harris, and Wallace and I just do not see them matching up to well. In order for Hillsdale to have a chance I believe Bee has to take Davis out of the game, Harris has to get in foul trouble (that seemed to help Dalton, because when Harris played in the second half he did very well), and someone other than Licata has to score. I think Norwayne will come out but it could be interesting. Thoughts?
Norwayne will win both.

The other reason Harris did well in the second half was Dalton pg masters fouled out. He is far and away their best ballhandler. Harris was flat out awesome as the head of the press without a great ballhandler in there. They finally started getting it to Moyer and stopped the bleeding, allowing Dalton to maintain the lead. As far as these games go , I would take the cats in both. Hillsdale will have a better chance IMO. Dalton was able to beat norwayne because they did not allow Davis to get the ball and when he did, bowe didn't give him any clean looks. Maxwell then started forcing the ball to Davis and turning it over.

Ya Hillsdale has to stop Davis to have a chance and they cant let Harris's pressure get to them. Dawgs got to come play this weekend last time we played the bears they made it interesting in the second half it! I look for us to bang it down low and attack them as the bears dont offer much size to compliment Bowe, Troyer, and Moyer.

A couple thoughts on the Cats. The Cats lost last weekend because they hadn't played in a week and half and they came out lethargic. West didnt leave them in long enough to get in a rythm. He subbed too much too fast and left his bench players in too long. It was just one of those games. I didnt think that all of Norwaynes scorers (Davis, Berger, Maxwell and Fry) would go cold in the same game but they did. I think coaching was as moch to blame as the playing

Bowe was successful because Davis is not a good defender and is too slow to get backside on the press and West kept running it so Bowe kept scoring

Davis is not the player that most casual observers on here think he is. He can score but definitely hurts you on D. I noticed he's not even in the area leaders in rebounds today. He's 6'6"....nuff said

As for Harris. That was probably his best game of the year. He's had flashes of brilliance but he doesn't shoot well and he doesnt play hard unless he's in the break. (cherry picker) He is only a sophomore so we expect big things someday. He needs to be a better team player. He is a beast at times, usually on the front end of the press and can jump out of the gym

Maxwell makes it go. He's probably been the most consistent all around player that they have. He needs to minimize his turnovers and is much better when he's not being selfish.

Berger is like Jekyll and Hyde. He's had some unbelieveable games and some where you cant even tell he's there. With his size and athletiscm he needs to be more active. He does consistently guard the other teams best player and does it well. He needs to continue to step up.

Norwayne should win both of these games if they show up. They manhandled Nwstrn the first time around. I dont see that changing Friday. Licata is going to have to take the Falcons on his shoulders if they want to win Saturday. I just dont think they have the horses. Could be a good one though

Oh that lethargy - will get you every time. Norwayne was a lot of things in that game but lethargic wasn't one of them. Sloppy describes it better but maybe the Dalton d had a tiny bit to do with that

Northwestern is young and well coached but this season seems to be more about finding an identity. I don't give them much of a chance this year against Norwayne, Dalton or Hillsdale. Next year I think they could be a contender.

I think this year comes down to Dalton & Norwayne with Hillsdale being the spoiler. It's doubtful Dalton or Norwayne will be in danger of getting upset by any WCAL team but Hillsdale. Northwestern will probably get a distant 4th place.

That being said, my take is the WCAL schedule has 3 huge games of interest left-

This Saturday---Norwayne at Hillsdale
Feb 10th---Dalton at Hillsdale
Feb 17th---Hillsdale at Norwayne

It's definitely not always the coaches fault but losing your mind is not the answer. Norwayne did not play well at Dalton and the coaching didnt help. West looked very rattled. He actually still looked pi$$ed on Saturday when they thrashed Waynedale. I dont mean to take anything away from Dalton. They have a real nice team and they play hard.

I agee with Red Rums take on the league. Hillsdale has a chance to stake a claim over the next couple weeks. They have 3 huge games left this regular season

Lethargy can be caused by everything from a poor diet to psychological disorders.

Not saying West is a great coach but you cant blame the lose on him.....from what I heard Norwayne shot 51 times and made 14...thats not the coaches fault...it was a off night for both teams shooting the ball....give Dalton credit they played great D...Norwayne just got out hustled against Dalton If I was Coach West I would be pissed too....Norwayne has times where they are just plain lazy that would ruffle any coaches feathers!!!

As far as not leaving the starters on the court for a long period of time....if you where a coach and your starters where not getting it done in a key game like this, wouldnt you try something different???.....I dont care what anybody says...you cant teach hustle!!! If yu dont want to play get off the court and let somebody else that does want to play.....Dalton wanted this game more then Norwayne did that night, some of that may be the Coaches fault, but, the Coach is not out on the court for 4 quarters!!!!

I very rarely post on here but love reading what people have to say. Norwayne lost to Dalton as a team. That team includes starters, bench players and coaches. We need to all accept the fact that sometimes this is going to happen. It is very rare for any team in any sport to go undefeated. There will be nights that you just dont have it as a player, as a team or as a coach. Norwayne lost. It happens. They're 11-1. That is in the past. What defines them is how they react going forward.....players and coaches. We lost a football game too and we all know what happened there.

To my Bobcat brethren. I love all of you guys. Bobcat. I actually love your posts. You are usually very accurate IMO. Bobcat14. I'm not sure the world is as black and white as you would like it to be. Dmax. Get that boy healthy. We definitely need him tonight

I think West did a great job of riding the football wave to start the season 10-0. Those guys didn't get much practice together before the first few games of the season. The only WCAL game that I saw any team even competitive with Norwayne prior to the Dalton loss was the other Dalton game. So I believe you just have to give Dalton credit. Maybe the loss will help Norwayne - similar to the Smithville loss in football.

hats off to the chipps - they game to play and hung around all night. Pretty concerned about moyer as he rolled his ankle (i think the same one he injured in football) early in the 3rd. He did come back out in the fourth siting on the bench and was walking on it but limping. They should still beat rittman and chippewa if he can't go, but it would be a tall order to beat hillsdale and northwestern. Keeping our fingers crossed in bulldog country.

Talked to Moyer after the game and he said he is fine if they needed him tonight he would have went back in, so he should be good to go for the coming weekend.
