His dad not getting the job, and that the team didn't play well and lost. Isn't that a good enough reason to swear in front of a gym full of people and try to get into the locker room?THE4RINGZ;1044710 wrote:What set him off?

Kind of surprised by this, although I do remember of few years back the Mrs was giving it to our boys pretty good at the Steve Smith Classic as they were going in and out of the lockerroom...happyday;1044700 wrote:I was there, and yes, they are an embarrassment. Madman11, good thing you aren't playing in Vegas.
Just in reference to the last post, my mom was yelling when some people began yelling at her first, making totally inappropriate personal remarks. And man, a fan yelling at somebody in a close game? I can't imagine how a player could deal with that. Especially at Orrville where they are used to playing in big games.
I won't even comment on Saturday's game because anyone who was there saw what happened. But, just like I did after the Norwayne game Friday, I would definitely like to give Coach Riebe and Waynedale props, especially playing on the road, without Ludeman.
As far as after the game, contrary to what everyone on here, who wasn't there, says, there was absolutely zero swearing done by myself and zero effort to get in the lockerroom. Also, zero physical altercation.
Actually, Coach Frizell kept walking and had not part at all in any of the verbal spatting. An assistant coach escalated it and furthered it more with personal attacks. It began with me asking a question, but quickly grew to more. I walked away on my own, and was not kicked out of the gym. Mr. Becker, who was at the other end of the gym at the time of the argument, walked with me and encouraged me to leave.
Honestly, I feel very badly about the timing of when I said something. No coach wants negativity being spewed in their ear, directly after the game. Especially a home loss where you only score 33 points. I have been on both sides of that fence, so I credit Jim for walking away. His assistant, not so much. Honestly, it wouldn't have gotten to the decibel level that it did, if I was personally attacked.
I felt terrible about what happened, most of Saturday night, until I started getting texts and calls from parents, players, and other community members, who will remain nameless, saying thank you for verbalizing what everyone has been thinking. As much as some of those people have wondered what is going on, and wanted to comment, they haven't all year, and that includes my parents, who have repeatedly told me to be patient and remain quiet this season. So they really should be left out of it.
There are few that care more about the program or those kids than I do. I definitely regret the timing of the situation and will never do that again. However, I don't regret what I said at all.
Anybody who would like to comment further, feel free to call me. I am on facebook . Although I know who nearly everyone on here is anyway, I would love to talk.
Again, let me stress one more time, NO PROFANITY was used and IT DIDN'T GET PHSYICAL.
Go Smithies!

You are a liar, Tyler. Everyone at that end of the gym heard you cussing up a storm, including children. We heard your dad too, and we watched Becker escort you out, the whole way you were yelling. Don't make it sound like he didn't make you leave. I don't believe that anyone called you supporting what you did, because everyone in that gym was repulsed by it.

Strength of schedule will likely hold them down. MaxPreps has them also at #9, but that is down from #7 a week ago. Preps has Dalton at 17 in D4 and Hillsdale around 40 in D3. Norwayne has Orrville tomorrow and then road games at Hillsdale and Dalton. We'll see how things look after that...

I think the Norwayne boys should focus on beating Orrville tomorrow. We are a long way from Tourney Time. Good luck tomorrow boys. Go Cats!

Those are the MaxPreps "standings" (not a poll), based entirely on computers. They have Northland 31st in DI and Dunbar 4th in DII, so personally, I would put zero stock in the MaxPreps "standings". Haha!Paul;1046186 wrote:I think I'm screwed up Pit, I find Norwayne number 2 In DIII and 9 in the prediction poll, What am I doing wrong.

I was referring to the AP poll. A new AP poll should be released each week until the end of the season.
I would put zero stock in any poll or standings, though. Just win on the court, and you will prove how good (or not so good) you are. Just ask us how poll championships (back-to-back in 2000 & 2001) helped us in the tournament.

Thank you sir big help and I agree it must be played on the floor. The wooster district looks ripe for the picking by the Bobcats.thePITman;1046779 wrote:Those are the MaxPreps "standings" (not a poll), based entirely on computers. I agree - neither the AP poll, Maxpreps, nor Fantastic50 gave Norwayne much of a chance in football after the second round and especially in the final. The human polls often have a regional bias and the computer polls/rankings never "watch" a game. It's fun to look at, though, until the game starts...thePITman;1046779 wrote:Those are the MaxPreps "standings" (not a poll), based entirely on computers. The Wooster District has some good teams, though, aside from Norwayne. Loudonville, Hillsdale, Elyria Catholic, Wellington - possibly Orrville (we'll see how they look tonight). I probably forgot a team or two.

I thought the coach might have a stroke. He contested every call except the opening tip. The game was a continuation of the football game - at times touches were called, at other times tackles and holds were not called. Gutsy win by Norwayne in the end.
