I wonder how hurt he really was. To watch his team lose like that from the sidelines, he should have been pretty damn hurt.

Maybe. But I've seen players play with a lot worse injuries. Like broken legs and having to be carried down the field. Maybe he has low pain tolerance?

Or maybe his ankle was sprained and he couldn't run on it. I'm going with that.

I don't want to hear this fucking shit. He should have been more like Byron Leftwich,who had a broken fucking leg and had to be carried from huddle to huddle but stayed in the game. That's the kinda guy I want on my team

Also that was one instance with a drop back passer playing in the MAC.

There's no "maybe" here. The doctors held him out. Neither the player or coaches can do squat if the doctors say he can't play -- and that's what happened.

My point being he could have let on that it was worse than it really was. Which, if he is starting this week and everything is fine, must be the case.

Difference between pain and injured. I just know we've seen QBs go back into a game with way worse injuries. Maybe he was hurt. But then 2 days later he's fine and starting the next game. Must not have been hurt too bad. Can't argue that, can you?

Oh really. How did that turn out...especially the QB part?

If he couldn't run he was pretty much useless at that point in the game.

If you must know this irrelevant piece of info, I played RB until my Jr year and switched to WR. 4th game of Jr year, our starting QB gets mad and "quits", but of course comes back. Coach suspends him for 1 game. Our JV had a broken ankle, so the only other QB was a 110 lb freshman. I had never taken a snap in my life, but I started that Friday. 7/12, 120 yards and 1 TD/1 INT passing, plus some rushing yards since we ran a lot of option and keepers. I played about half the next game, and then here and there the rest of the year just for change of pace, mostly option.

Now, what did this have to do with Miller?

You misunderstood my post. I meant play QB after tweaking an ankle. I wasn't asking about your h/s football fill opportunity. :laugh:

Bottom line is, I feel if he could have went back in, he would have. If you disagree that is fine, everyone has their opinions. Maybe the staff held him back for fear of a serious injury? No one knows for sure.

Also, I never read anything saying he was "fine" just that he is still the #1...a lot can happen in a week.

Oh. No. But tweaking an ankle wasn't fun as a WR or RB either. I also played CB. No fun with a tweaked ankle.

He may have been that hurt. We'll never know. But Automatik will have a hard time convincing me that a "tweaked" ankle should keep the team leader off the field, when he is desperately needed. Especially when he was seen walking/jogging on it. And even more so when 2 days later he is fine and named the starter for the next game. So he obviously didn't have an injury that was very newsworthy. Injured ankles don't just heal up in 2 days. But you already know that.

Again....where did you hear that he was "fine"? I also don't think and 18 year old true frosh is our team leader, although I couldn't tell you who it is actually. Leadership is definitely something that is lacking on this squad, from the coaches to the players.

He could be and needs to be. I always look at the QB as the offensive leader. But maybe my point was your last sentence.

I am not sure why, but I think OSU actually wins this game (as long as Miller plays). Logic is not on my side, but in reality, the offense -- with Miller -- did improve vastly, and the defense was lights out for 2-1/2 quarters (and dismal for 1-1/2). Lots of lessons to be learned, and hopefully were learned. Call me crazy, but I like OSU 27-17.

I haven't seen Illinois play this year so I don't really have a prediction. It's hard to come up with one with this team. I thought we would get destroyed by Nebraska.

This staff is so inept, I want them fired as soon as the whistle blows ending the UM game.

I don't mind if Bauserman plays- if it's garbage time and he's turning and handing off to a RB (which is all he should've done Sat night).

If Bauserman sets foot on the field against Illinois, and either Miller/Guiton/Graham can walk, the staff should be fired on the spot.

Illinois most definitely has the athletes that can run with OSU. If Petrino and Koenning call a decent game, OSU could be in trouble. Let's not forget the fact that Illinois always plays OSU tough.
