Well, after about 6 or 7 years it finally happened. FML.

Im not really sure it is worth sending in it to Microsoft when I can just get a new system for a little bit more money immediately (versus waiting the 2 months). But do I go for the 360 again or PS3?? Im thinking PS3 even though Ive been Xbox then Xbox 360 forever because I think they offer more/better via streaming.

You could just fix yours with the wet towel method.

The towel trick didn't work for me. Luckily it was still under the 3 year window and the "new" one hasn't given me any problems.

Why would you switch? Then you have to rebuild your games collection, lose your friends, etc. Just either get a new box or get it repaired (get a new box). 6 or 7 years is pretty reasonable for an electronic device you likely used fairly often.

I started out with a 360 and after mine RROD x3 I switched to PS3. Couldn't be happier.

This I understand more since it going 3 times has to be infuriating. But mine went once and I was fine with fixing it. 3 times and I'd probably do the same. But it's unlikely to happen again since they fixed the RROD a long time ago and even more so with the new model.

I still have a 360, it just collects dust now. I've been meaning to get GoW3, but too much coming out within the next few weeks. I absolutely can't wait for Uncharted 3.

Towel method worked for me back in the day for roughly 3 months. I've had the RRoD 3 times, on the latest they sent me was over 3 yrs ago and its been fine.

I can fix the RRoD. Its actullay quite simple and only costs about 30 bucks.

Forgot to mention I don't even have an Xbox. I have a PS3. Still its an easy fix for the piece of crap.

I dont do live. So that isnt a big deal at all. I also dont play old versions of games, and with the 2012 editions about to release, Id probably pick them up anyway. I am a 95% sports guy on video games, not much for the shooter games or anything. I switch literally doesnt affect me at all.

If only they could combine both of those into one system...think of the money you would save

If you play sports games, then it's a no brainer. PS3.

My wife and I just got HuluPlus for the 360. If anything happens to my xbox again (RROD once in 2008), I'll still stay with xbox.

I don't do too many games, mainly FIFA and Halo. But with all the features that xbox has, there's no way that I'd go to a PS3. I just wish my ISP had WatchESPN capabilities...bummer!

Did Mircosoft tell you it was going to take 2 months?

When I sent mine in, I had one back in 5 or 6 days.

Yeah they did, and I know a few people that said it took them 2-3 months. I suppose it could be them covering their ass if it does take that long, when in reality it might be closer to a week. Ill probably suck it up and send it in. If its a week that would be awesome. 2 months and Ill be pretty bummed though.
