"Countless people learned about the death of Steve Jobs on devices that would not exist without him; that is a legacy"
Very profound statement, and proves the genius of Steve Jobs.
Tech icon and amazing innovator. There is supposedly a biography coming out in November, in which Steve Jobs granted over 40 different interviews for.

Even if you dont like Apple or own Apple products, you have to appreciate what this man did. In the same way you have to appreciate Bill Gates on the other side. Both pushed each other and because of it, our technology is for the better. This is a sad day in for technology. It obviously wont stop things from being made, but when such a great mind and innovator passes on, its sad.

Friend's dad had Pancreatic Cancer...Found out on December 5..They told him he had 3 months to live. Called him the next day and said 3 weeks. He died 10 days later. Unreal how fast it can move.

Probably, because they are much stronger now than before. But when Jobs first had issues with the Board and they forced him out, they had to buy him back in as CEO because his new company was gonna overtake them. Then Apple went on to be mega. When he was gone, it struggled. He built it, and then built it again. He is not there to build it a 3rd time should they need him.Raw Dawgin' it;924186 wrote:I care about as much about this as i did when Michael Jackson died....which is very little.

They will be fine in the near future, riding the success of the iPhone and iPad, but just like the PC has, and to some extent the laptop will become less relevant, so too will the iPad/iPhone. Jobs won't be there to innovate the next big thing and someone else will have to step up.Laley23;924349 wrote:Probably, because they are much stronger now than before. Yeah, thats pretty much what I was getting at. I think he surrounded himself with some other brilliant minds, and they may be able to still be ahead of the game. But he was always that fall back genius of the company. It will be interesting to see if the other companies can forge ahead of Apple and push the envelope first or not.chicago510;924356 wrote:They will be fine in the near future, riding the success of the iPhone and iPad, but just like the PC has, and to some extent the laptop will become less relevant, so too will the iPad/iPhone. There have only been a few "celebrity" deaths that have weighed on me. Not that I became depressed or anything, but gave it more than a "ahh, that's too bad."Raw Dawgin' it;924186 wrote:I care about as much about this as i did when Michael Jackson died....which is very little.

This just opens up a new revenue stream for apple.
ICoffins.
It would have countless outlets and an extended life power system to sustain all the apple products well into the afterlife.

Trying to think of a celebrity death that reallly affected me at all.justincredible;925060 wrote:There have only been a few "celebrity" deaths that have weighed on me. Not that I became depressed or anything, but gave it more than a "ahh, that's too bad."

None really come to mind. The closest would be Joe Nuxhall. It just kind of hit me for a bit when I had heard that and it did sadden me a bit. Maybe because I had been listening to him on the radio my whole life and that i met him a couple of times. He was friends with my HS baseball coach and would play in a local golf tourney each year when he was healthy. I remember one day sitting in my HS baseball coach's classroom during a free period and in walked Nuxy.
I dont have any Apple products but I have nothing against them. I just never saw the need for them.
He def was a revolutionary. As they said on TV, he knew what people wanted before they even wanted it, and taht is something amazing to be said to a businessman.
