Really strange idea, but what if they came on the air and they kicked the ball off?

Comparing anyone to Hitler, even via incredibly stupid comparisons is dumb. Obama isn't to Boehner as Hitler was to Netanyahu. Obama and Boehner are on the same team. Just disagree with what play to call. Hitler and Netanyahu are competitors.

And the "stepped on my first amendment rights" comment by Hank Jr. shows that he doesn't have a grasp of what that amendment even means.

If you are a figurehead for a corporation and you make a political comment that isn't going to be viewed well by a lot of people you shouldn't be shocked if you get fired and it's completely within the company's right to do so.

To piggy back what I was saying earlier, I looked up Jermele Hill and noted she made a Hitler reference in regards to the Boston Celtics a couple years ago. She received a one week suspension and full backing from ESPN she misspoke. A second incident I recalled (although not Hitler related) was when Dana Jacobson shouted "fuck Jesus" at the Mike & Mike Roast. She received no penalty and is still on the network. Hypocrisy at its finest.
No one knows who those people are is likely the difference. Millions know who Hank Jr. is and saw the clip. 12 people on the other hand knew who those two were before Googling them.

Agreed. Met Hank Jr. once. It's amazing he could walk and chew gum at the same time.

ESPN will quickly terminate its relationship with country-western singer Hank Williams, Jr. following remarks he made Monday on Fox News comparing Obama to Hitler. The vocalist, at first defiant, claimed his right to free speech had been violated. Later, Williams apologized for the comments, but still remains on the outs with the cable sports giant. Hank Williams, Jr. permanently suspended from Monday Night Football. I believe they could do more for the benifit of this country. Hank did not compare Obama to Hitler. It was just his opinion. I think they clearly overreacted to his statement. Sure, it wasn't the smartest thing to say, but I seem to recall musicians saying similar things about both George Bushes and Ronald Reagan and never losing their jobs.

Look a little deeper and its more about Hank being a racist like most other redneck southern hillbillies. Was this really a huge surprise to most people? Rock musicians are primarily radical liberals and C&W musicians are primarly radical conservatives...so what?

Hank has supposedly cut a song about Fox & Friends and ESPN.

He's not so happy, and he's got some support from many people (on both sides of the political spectrum).

He is simply stereotyping Hank. Similar to Bill Maher who thinks everyone in the south is racist, dumb, and vote strictly Republican. I have a little tidbit of information for Maher though. EVERY one of my Kentucky relatives votes strictly Democrat and none of them can give you a valid reason why they do.

Rich racist southern hillbillies vote Republican / poor racist southern hillbillies vote Democrat but you can be sure they still love their C&W music. Not stereotyping at all...just summarizing 200 yrs. of facts into a soundbite small enough for most OC neanderthals to understand.

And you can't give a valid reason why you vote Republican rather than the best qualified candidate regardless of party affiliation.

Correction sir. I know what both parties stand for and can figure out where the parties are going. I also follow the news. Yes, I do lean to the right. I won't vote D because I don't agree with them on hardly anything. My family members however know nothing of what is going on in Washington yet will still go vote every 4 years and mark D no matter what. Just for reference I consider myself a conservative and not a Republican. Oh and I'm also not a racist.

Nice try but you failed. Oh and unless you are just playing a personality on here I don't think you would vote for a Republican so I guess this would be a pot and kettle situation huh?

Very true. A few years back I was at dinner with a law firm I have a business association with. One of the partners was this fire cracker from the holler in eastern Kentucky. She is a brilliant lawyer and if you spoke to her, you soon realize she is about as socially conservative a person you would find. After a few drinks the conversation switched to politics. One of my colleagues started making comments about Democrats, which resulted her standing up in the middle of the room yelling "My momma and daddy voted for Democrats as did my grandparents. They would roll over in their graves if I ever voted Republican".

Are you really foolish enough to believe what most politicians actually say? Poor fool. The last election I voted for twice as many Republicans as Democrats, that's just the way it worked out. Also been a campaign manager for a Republican County Commissioner.

Hank Williams is an idiot, his music is shitty, and the song is tired and worn out. Time to move on.

In this thread: I vote for my party because I'm smart and researched the issues. Other people vote for their party because they're ignorant.

This. Regardless of if he's on "your team" or not, this guy is not only dumb but annoying too. Just call it for what it is.

He wears a beard because he has massive scar's on his face from an accident that should have killed him, which I am sure your thinking "I wish it did". Amazing how a "dipshit" turned his life around, became a famous, wealthy Country singer and gives millions to charities isn't?

Its not like his life was all bad. Most of his troubles were self induced. Being the son of a legend can't be all that tough.

I'm a fan of his, but let's not pretend like he is anymore than an entertainer.
