Right, which is why I put that in there about not knowing how accurate the NCAA was and hoping that they did do their due diligence in investigating because of how harsh an additional 5 games is. And I said "If" they did, then he was overpaid.

How does Posey have a lawyer? I thought he had to do all of this stuff to "feed his family"?

Part of the argument is that he was paid for his travel time. And when you take that into consideration, the numbers basically come out to the penny.

That seems odd to me. I've never been paid for travel time at any job.

Not a bad gig to get paid $15 an hour to drive from Columbus to Independence or wherever. :)

I know a guy who gets $18/hour to drive cars back and forth from the Charlie's Dodge dealership in Maumee to various dealerships throughout the Tri-State area..just sayin'

Ok, I'd assume that is his actual job, right? The commute to work is not typically paid time.

Actually, I don't know, but I doubt it...however, it's not all that uncommon for someone to get paid to drive to their place of employment if it's in their contract, especially if they can make their calls, etc. from their home.
For the record, I think Posey is as guilty as sin, but his attorney is doing what he was hired to do, and that is get his client reinstated as soon as possible...and he may just do it.

Attorneys make their money by trying to get guilty fkrs off. Thats the American way and its a good way. But when the Fkrs are as dead ass guilty as Posey its a tougher gig. After Mama Posey shot her big mouth off about Lil' Devier being unfairly persecuted its time for OSU to cut bait and unload all the Fkrs.

My dad owned a construction company, and he paid workers for travel time. It's not uncommon.

I see. Well I work road construction during summers, and making $49/hour isnt uncommon. I am non union working for a union company. I get paid the same union members do without having fees for benefits like health care taken out. Its around $36/hour.If you are a member of the union its something like $26/h. However, anything over 40 is time and a half, and that happened to be right around $49/hr (because you only have to pay union fees for regular time). Also, working weekends, holidays, or 7 days straight, you get paid double time..I regularly worked around 70hrs a week. Its also only 6 months out of the year which is why the dollar per hour rate is pretty high.

I also got paid travel time to jobs, $12/h


Not saying that nothing wrong happened, but the numbers you have shown me happen to be pretty similar to what I've made doing similar work.

I got paid $12/h to drive to work, as did everybody I worked with. I guess its a good thing Im not a NCAA athlete, or I'd be fucked.

He said he works for a Union company and gets paid to drive to the site. That really isn't uncommon. 3 of my cousins are Union plumbers and usually have 10 hours of drive time on their checks per week. Driving from their house to the jobsite.

Just to address a few things mentioned above....

Posey's atty is being paid by the University with "non-public" funds. It is allowed and not unusual. All "entities" in an investigation should have and are entitled to legal representation.


Although Posey is not in the union, the union contract specifies that drive time is to be paid as the job may entail multiple sites during the day. Hence he was being paid the same as other workers.

Sorry, dynasty, but you're wrong here...as I stated above, it's not uncommon to get paid driving to and from your office, depending on where you work and what arrangements you have with your employer.

I understand being paid for driving from site to site while on the clock. But not while commuting to work. If we are defending him being paid for driving from Columbus to Cleveland, then it is absolutely shady.

It's common in construction to pay for driving from office to site or site to site. But I agree that it really isn't common outside of that.
