Before the game, I didn't think we'd win.
But after that. He has to go. How can you 'hold on' to a game with so much time left. Especially when they're coming back like that.

Why are you all getting on Bauserman? I know he sucks, but he doesn't play defense. 27 - 6 midway through the 3rd. 28 straight points.

probably sour grapes on my part, but i give no credit to Nebraska.....they are not good. This is all on Fickell and his coaching, Bauserman and his terribleness, and braxton and his pussyness.....and the defense for quiting. This had nothing to do with the cornhuskers as they are a middle of the pack big ten team this year...it has everything to do with poor coaching and no leadership.

Yes you are right the defense didnt give up 28 points straight. That was all Joe and the coaches. You're right we held them to 30 rush yards in the first half but then gave up 170 in the 2nd I'm sure Luke made adjustments at the half so they could get those. Tired I hate the excuse do what the other teams defense did and force a 3 and out.
Yes some of this this is on Joe and the Coaches but most on the defense.

Defense was on the field for most of the 2nd half. If Bauserman gets a couple first downs we're not having this convo. Like Chris Cooley said about Tony Romo's meltdown last week. We should've just ran the clock down, and then kneeled, every play.

Did you not read the rest of my post? Does Bauserman play LB? This is THE Ohio State. Up 21 points midway through the 3rd, the great OSU defense can't close out the game? Bauserman sucks, no doubt. He didn't blow this game, though.jordo212000;927334 wrote:Team just mailed it in

The deep throw by Bauserman (INT) after Hyde had just run for 11 yards was inexcusable. Then we get another drive with 5 minutes left and throw every down, like there's 1 minute left or something.
When Braxton got hurt, you could tell there was a leadership vacuum- players & coaches. Nobody stepped up.

Even if the defense is on the field most of the second half, they have to nut up and get a stop. We all agree the wheels fell off the O when Miller left the game, but at some point you as a defense HAVE to regroup and show some pride.

If the coaches stuck with what works and ran the ball more when Bauserman came in, you wouldn't have all those completely crappy throws. The clock would run.

The defense gave up four TDs but Bauserman's complete inability to move this team had a lot to do with that, imo.

If an offense is consistently going 3 and out, the defense will get tired. it's as simple as that. The defense gave up so many points because the offense sucked ass and didn't give them time to rest. Nebraska got lucky tonight. If Miller doesn't go down OSU wins this one going away. I'll take the win but my Huskers aren't a good football team right now.

I have a really hard time understanding how Bauserman "won" the job to start the season. That should tell you how f***ed up this coaching staff really is. Fickell and his entire staff should be told right now that they are not, under any circumstances, coming back.
I still think they all moonlight on Sundays, masquerading as the Browns' coaching staff.

blah blah blah. Tired defense=those drives. In the 3rd quarter it was obvious that our O-line was dominating the Huskers. Their defensive line was going down like flies. Miller gets hurt and the offensive play-calling goes out the toilet because Bauserman isn't even a shadow of what Miller is. The result is a lot of three-and-outs and a defense which is tired from the no-huddle from Nebraska. Martinez looked like Bauserman up until that point, but a tired defense made him look great.

I'm done with this team for the season...I can't stand to watch them blow wins like this and just look absolutely out-coached! Bauserman is TERRIBLE! Fickell is not a good "head" coach, and it just seems like this team gives up way to easy...Very Disappointing loss and this game definitely sealed Fickell's fate to be the permanent head coach at OSU.

1. Agree Bauserman is horrible. OSU needs to get Kenny Guiton some reps in practice so that he can back up Miller.
2. The D was horrible in the second half. As others have noted, going three and out on a regular basis does adversely effect your defense. That being said, the Nebraska offensive line was knocking people on their butts.
3. This team will not beat Wisconsin and Michigan this year. Illinois next week could also be a loss if the team is not focused.
