According to the New Yorker: Arrested Development coming back for one more TV season before movie. 9-10 episodes is the current plan, though some of the characters (like Gob) will not appear in every episode because of the schedules of the actors.

They said on the radio today that each episode would highlight a character and tell what they had been up to. Some characters will undoubtedly be in multiple episodes other than their highlight episode, but this allows for them to shoot around Arnett's schedule. Yeah I just read that. They are doing it because when they were writing the movie, they were already halfway through the movie and the characters just finally met up. They want to use these episodes as a way to lead into the Movie.

I rented the whole series on dvd. Didn't watch it. Caught one episode on a buddies computer. Regretted it.
