The conference is stronger this year than it has been in a long time.

Thoughts?

Yes, 100% agree. Going into the season I would not be surprised if any team other than Iowa made a run to the NCAAs. The so-called "bottom-feeder" teams from the past are fielding great teams this year (Penn State, Northwestern) and the top teams are some of the top teams in the country.

This will be a great year, I can't wait for it to get started!

it'll be a tough battle for whoever takes the league crown. I think there's legitmately 6 or 7 teams in the dance, and depending on the combo of wins if they get to 20, possibly 8 or 9

This year the Big Ten is hands down the best conference. I think they will finally win the ACC-Big Ten challenge.

For the school's sake, I really hope Northwestern makes the Dance. They have had solid teams over the years, just can't win big games. Or just can't beat the good team.

Are they still doing the ACC/BigTen challenge? If so I hope the BigTen will finally win one.

Protect your home court, and Big Ten wins 6-4. Pretty easy. ;)

I hope they can make it. As a long-suffering Wildcat fan, they need to break through.

They were 8-10 in the conference last season, and twice gave up double-digit second half leads at home to ranked teams. They knocked off top 10 Michigan State on the road, and they lost a number close games in the last minute or two.

They return 4 starters and should have more depth than in the past. They made the NIT last year, and they have an outside shot of making the NCAA tourney this year.

The B10 has always had some good teams at the top, but this might be the first year they finally have the depth of other conferences like the ACC or Big East. If teams play to their potential, the B10 may be the strongest conference in the nation.

Didn't Northwestern already lose their best player for the season though?

Coble is out with a foot injury indefintely, so it is too early to tell. I certainly hope he gets back sooner than later as I would love to see nine teams get into the Big Dance, although eight is probably more realistic.

I really hope the Gophers pull it together, but with a couple of star recruits having off the court issues, this could get interesting. Hopefully Tubby whips them into shape quick.

My understanding is that he's out for now, but will be back, hopefully by the time the B10 play heats up.

Lots of really good teams. Even Indiana has a lot of talent on the court this year. Too young to compete, but they have some talent (which is VERY exciting for me!!!).

MSU, imo, is the only NC contender though.

OSU can make a deep run, and Purdue can as well. But Purdue, as Ive said every other year, is not very athletic and could be bounced early again depending on the match-up.

You have 5 big 10 wins. I think I would take Purdue and Minnesote

Duke at Wisky is the most intriguing I think. It's harder than heck to win up there. I don't like MSU's chances down there...

This year the Big 10 has a legit chance to send 8 teams. They won't be all one and done low seeds either. I know we took a lot of crap last year.

Very exciting indeed. They'll definitely be more competitive than last year. Should be a fun season. I like some of these Freshman a lot. Plus the addition of Rivers is huge!

I was hoping you came over from JJ. Need someone to talk IU bball with!

Nope, The ACC is way to good at the bottom in comparison. It will be close but ACC is better IMO.

Not sure if they are stacked. Iowa is getting beat by 16 with 14 minutes left vs Texas-San-Antonio.
