Just for sonofanump, a spinoff thread. What is your favorite Pink Floyd song? Mine is wish you were here, dedicated to the schizophrenic Roger (Syd) Barrett. Syd was the original brain power and lead vocalist for the band, who increasingly lost touch with reality, so they band had to move in a different direction. It got to the point where Syd didn't even want to have contact from the band, not because he was angry with them, but b/c to him, his Pink Floyd life never existed. Before he died, the last years of his life, he went by Roger... "Syd" died 30 years prior. A great song, a great tribute.

Any one that ends quickly. Pink Floyd has become more and more annoying the more i hear them over the years.

Tho I will say when I could stomach them I liked Brain Damage a lot. Also, I recently came across a PF song I'd never heard and love it. It's called Four Free I think.

Wish You Were Here, and it's not close. I love most Pink Floyd songs, but that one always stops me in my tracks.

All of them. But if I had to pick one it would probably be Welcome to the Machine. Wish You Were Here is my second favorite and the Wish You Were Here album is easily my favorite PF album.

I don't see how getting older would make me dislike Pink Floyd.Steel Valley Football;915584 wrote:You're still young....give it time.

I was introduced to them in 8th grade and love their music even more 15 years later.

To me music getting overplayed just ruins it. It doesn't matter how good it is. Unfortunately, Pink Floyd has become one of those bands for me.

Who is overplaying them? As far as I know I've never heard one of their songs on a commercial and they don't really pop up too much when I do listen to non-talk radio. If you overplayed them yourself, well, that's your own fault.Steel Valley Football;915649 wrote:To me music getting overplayed just ruins it. It doesn't matter how good it is. ...tough call for me. It's a 3 way time for my favorite;
1.Us and Them, Comfortably Numb and Echoes (live at Pompeii)

When you read about the Sid Barrett story, it just makes this song so much more powerful and tantalizing.brutus161;915607 wrote:Wish You Were Here, and it's not close. I live most Pink Floyd song, but that one always stops me in my tracks.

You obviously don't listen to much Columbus area classic-rock radio. It definitely wasn't me overplaying them. I threw all my PF cds in the Olentangy.

Wish You Were Here. PF is amazing I don't think I'll ever not want to listen to them.

Dogs off of the Animals album. Also really like Echoes off of Meddle, and Us And Them off of Dark Side of the Moon.

Correct, I do not. Also, that is littering and is punishable by a fine up to $500 and up to 6 months in jail.Steel Valley Football;915680 wrote:You obviously don't listen to much Columbus area classic-rock radio. It definitely wasn't me overplaying them. I threw all my PF cds in the Olentangy.

I mean, that isnt being jammed your throat. Just turn the station. It isnt like pop music which gets overplayed cause you cant go places without hearing it. But classic rock music? Zepplin, Beatles, and Stones are the only ones I can come close to thinking would be overplayed where you cant get away from it. That is even a debate as the biggest issue with them are commercials and halftime shows. Which you can change.Steel Valley Football;915680 wrote:You obviously don't listen to much Columbus area classic-rock radio. It definitely wasn't me overplaying them. As for the question.
Wish You Were Here, followed closely by Comfortably Numb.
