Pretty good movie but no bartman was a bit of a let down. Liked how they got all the people around him that went for the ball to talk.

HAven't watched this doc yet, but to comment on the Bartman situation.....I think Cubs fans that blame him are idiots. There was still an inning of baseball to play. This one thing did not lose the game for the Cubs, the shitty Cubs did.

Documentary was good, hard to watch as a Cubs fan for two reasons. 1) ....we were 5 outs from the World Series with a 3-0 lead. 2) The way Bartman was treated is agonizing to watch.

The documentary gives an unfair portrayal of Cubs fans...a bad reputation. The same thing would have happened in any stadium, with any team had it gone down the same exact way. It wouldn't have blown up like it did in another city, but the reaction would have been the same.

Do I blame Bartman for costing the Cubs an out and potentially causing the meltdown in the Top of the 8th that night? You bet your ass I do. Alou had that ball. However I don't blame him for the Game 6 loss and I don't blame him for losing the series.

Would I have done the same thing? You bet your ass I would have.

So I blame Bartman....but I can't blame him.

Man that dude got a raw deal! What was worse is how is friends abandoned him there! When they were trying to get him out of the stadium he was scared and confused as hell! I actually felt like a jerk watching this as back then I thought it was funny.

A) As a Cubs fan, that was painful to watch. I didn't move for two hours. It was captivating.

B) Like SnotBubbles said, do I blame Bartman for costing the Cubs an out? Fuck yes I do. Do I blame him for losing the game and/or series? Absolutely not. No way you can. No fucking way. However, I do think that had ANYTHING but that happened, the Cubs would have won the game. If he pops that foul ballinto the second deck, it's just another foul ball. The way it went down visibly and audibly changed everything in the stadium; due in no small part to Alou's reaction.

C) Everyone would have done the same thing as Bartman did. What he had to deal with is very, very unfair. I hope the Cubs win the WS one day and he is able to be absolved the way Bill Buckner was.

D) The 'video blog' or whatever you want to call it that the dude had from the stands was pure gold. Unreal. Watching a (in a sports sense only) tragedy unfold in real time through the eyes of a fan at the game was amazing.

E) That was the best 30 for 30 I think. They covered it all. From the video blog to Bernie Mac's infamous "champs" chant to integrating what Bartman was actually hearing on his headset to the removal of the fans showing that Alou almost certainly would have caught the ball to the stadium security's account of the incident to the fans seated near him to the parallels of scapegoating throughout history...it was just phenomenally done.

Yeah...good summary. The only reason I turned it off is because my wife was being frisky....that's the only thing that could pull me away from it. Luckily, I only missed the last 20 minutes and I have it DVR'd.

Very hard to watch it, I think that will be the summary of every Cubs fan. I remember watching it live like it was yesterday, and the replays, calls, etc....it was like I had it memorized. I loved it and hated it all in the same.

I liked it. As a Cubs fan I never really blamed Bartman. He was just this nerdy little guy who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I always wondered how his appearance effected the way things happened at the stadium that night. Say you replace him with a guy who looks like Brock Lesnar, or a really gorgeous girl, what happens then? I really doubt it would have been handled the way it was. Sad to see all those assholes throwing beers at him. I mean the guy had headphones on at the game for christs sake, he was as loyal a fan as anybody.

I think you make a great point! This guy fit the bill, easy target. It was even said in the movie. If it was some billy bad ass or heck even the guy in the gray shirt that reached for the ball next to him would it have been different?

Anybody who thinks that this one play was the deciding factor in this game, let alone the series, is just looking for an excuse not to blame the real reason.....the curse of the billy goat.

To this day I don't understand why Baker didn't take Prior out after the Bartman play. I know its hindsight but the whole stadium deflated after the foul ball.

Watched it last night with the wife. She kept saying, "Awww. Awww, that's so sad. That's awful. Poor guy. That's terrible." STFU n00b!

I don't know if Baker should have taken Prior out, but he sure as hell should have walked out to the mound, called the infield in, and calmed everyone down. Prior was a young kid at the time, Baker made a huge mistake by allowing the drama of that situation control the rest of the inning.
