Honestly I think the "authority" vacuum left by Tressel's departure is hurting this team the most right now. If Tressel didn't strike that deal with Pryor chances are good he wouldn't have been back anyway. Here's what I assume OSU fans expected from an outsiders perspective coming in to this year, its a long list so bare with me: 1) a competent offense capable of sparingly producing points as well as gradually working to improve turnovers in an effort to assist the defense in winning football games. Eh.....Ohio State's mea culpa complex aside, this is OHIO STATE. Each and every kid sitting on that bench are there because the Buckeyes recruited them. Not trying to dog on a college kid, but from a football standpoint, his poor play yesterday cannot be defended. Even if you overlook the multitude of times he was burned in coverage, how many times was he dragged 7 yards after "making a tackle." and Im tired of everyone hating on Howard. It looked like he got beat alot of the times because we played damn zone coverage almost all day where he had flats and was trying to catch up for the safety not getting over to his deep half. He did get beat a few times..the touchdown catch (which was still good coverage) and a few other. Cunningham is a real good receiver.
Yes, the MSU player blocked in the back. But the announcers were saying that because it was in the tackle box it was legit. I'm not talking about that as a 'wish', but only as a counterbalance to the comments directed at the players. If your going to be 'mad' or disappointed at this team then direct it towards the guys that pulled the strings.The worst thing you can do right now is talk about the Vest or Pryor because they aren't coming back. Keep rooting for your team and good things have to come at some point.
