Do you have a mirror in the shower to know if you miss a spot? And do you use shaving cream still?

I usually keep a beard unless I have to work(winter and summers only) and when I do shave it hurts like a mother.

I use a Norelco T980 Turbo Vacuum Trimmer to keep the beard to a tame level, then shape it and do my neck and upper cheeks with an ol' trusty, two-bladed Gilette Sensor Excel.

I find that I sacrifice detail with anything above two blades; to me, personally, the 3, 4, and 5-bladed razors are overkill and far too pricey to upkeep.

I wish I could use an electric. But I have way to thick/fast growing facial hair. When I am on TV for my job, I have to shave in the AM and well as the PM (if I am on at both times). It sucks. I use a Gillette Fusion, but I hate the act of shaving.

You seem like the perfect candidate for a safety razor. I am pretty sure it will eliminate your need to shave more than once per day.

Fusion.

Don't switch the blades all that often, don't have any problems.

I am going to have to try a fusion. I'm tired of tearing my face up.

I am going to start drying my blades off after shaving and trying the mineral oil to prolong the life of them, thanks for the ideas!!

I've honed my fingernails to razor-sharpness and just scrape them across my face from time to time.

When will they invent the Nair for men's faces? now that would be nice, put it on your beard, a few minutes later step into the shower and bam, clean shaven.

I buy the disposable ravors and I use the same one for about 2 months. I only shave about 3 times every 2 weeks though. They work as good as the expensive ravors have for me in the past.

Since this thread I have been drying off my fusion cartridges after shaving each time and it does make a huge difference. Blades are lasting a lot longer and staying sharp, thanks for the info!

I forgot about this thread.

I got a Merkur safety razor from my wife for Christmas with a variety pack of shaving soaps and a badger hair brush. I actually love to shave now. It is quite relaxing.

I know. It's disappointing but I am unable to grow a full, beautiful beard like Mangold. He constantly reminds me of this.

Just tried a new shaving cream and it is the shaving cream of the Gods. C.O.Bigelow Barber Eucalyptus Shaving Cream. Got the small tube for $5 at Bath and Body Works. Amazing stuff.
