Not sure if this has been brought up, but when I was in college at Toledo, students were admitted to the game for free as long as they provided their student ID. This would surely get attendance up I would think.

I believe at another DI school in the area they count season ticket holders twice if they actually show up

UT Alumni Also. '01. It was not uncommon to get 4,000 to 5,000 students at a game. Then again, we had something that Akron does not. An exciting team that wins games.. When I was there we were spoiled having 3-4 future NFL players there at the same time. (Gradkowski, Moore, Taylor, and I think one of the safeties or linebackers made it in somewhere). anyways, I never seen any special promotions for the game. Did notice a few alumni cheerleaders on the sideline though.
