That was hilarious how both just dropped at the same time. Just like last year when Oregon was playing Cal I believe, the Cal D-linemen would just drop so Oregon would have to slow down.

It's pretty sad it happens in all sports. Wish athletes would show more integrity than that.

Agreed!

In soccer, the "dives" usually happen when a play is occurring also. Football players are terrible at it!

If anybody ever tried to deny that it doesnt happen in football, they are out of touch with reality. It probably happens against Oregon almost every game. Happened a few times against LSU

That was terrible. I don't know how a "professional" can bring themselves to do that.

In soccer, to be fair, it often doesn't have a tactical advantage (read cheating), other than trying to get your opponent carded.

In the NFL, when guys fake injuries to stop the no huddle offense, I have a problem with that.

Im a soccer guy, and I'll be the first to admit that soccer has had a diving/faking problem.

The problem is how can you ever penalize faking? The time you penalize a guy who is really hurt you have an issue.

Penalizing faking is easy in football because of substitutions... harder in soccer because of limited substitutions.

In football, if you go down with an injury you can't come back for 10 minutes of real time. If it's just about the end of a half, the real time carries over during half time.. Anyone with a real injury, that's okay as that time is necessary to check out and make sure everything is ok. If it's a fake injury... it serves as a punishment as the player just took himself out of the game for that amount of time.

In soccer, they do penalize faking...you get cautioned. I just wish referees would do it more -- which they could.

No one is saying that soccer players don't embellish. Not one person. It's pretty lame what happened though in last night's game. At least, in soccer, most embellishing acts and "diving/faking" happens when there is actually play on the ball/person. The crap in football isn't happening in the flow of the game. Which is worse?

You can get carded for faking/diving in soccer. Happens a lot actually. If the ref thinks the dive is blatant enough to card it's usually a red too.

It's actually never a red. It isn't a red cardable offense. It is only a yellow. Sorry.

Reps... it is pretty much saying "I'm not good enough to stop my opponent so I'm just going to fall down and hope for the best"
