San Diego State is not that bad, I think you're right it will be close. If Michigan starts as slow as they did with E. Mich. they could be in trouble. Michigan 35-24.

SDSU will give Michigan a tough game. Michigan will probably pull it out in the 4th quarter though.

Ryan Lindley could have a big game for SDSU. I wouldn't be surprised to see them jump out to an early lead, but UM should pull it out. I like the 35-24 guess.

SDSU won't be hoping to win this one, they will be expecting to win and hoping to blow UM out. I think Michigan will need to put up 40. I was hoping the cross country trip and early start time would benefit Michigan but I see SDSU already went to NY and beat Army.

I'm not sure how they did looking at the box score. Army outgained them 446 to 292, 25 to 16 in first downs, and 42 minutes to 18 minutes in TOP. How do you lose that!

Look at the drive chart on ESPN for the game. Army had some long possessions that ended in fumbles. San Diego State had 2 quick possessions that ended in touchdowns.

Out of 10 possesions, Army punted once, scored three times, fumbled three times, ended the 1st half with the ball and turned it over on downs twice.

Ohio State rotates between 7 and 8 home games every year. Michigan just has their first conference game at home so that's why. I would imagine it's happened with Ohio State recently though I can't remember off the top of my head.

I actually think this game won't be close. Hoke knows those players very well and they ran a pro style defense. The only thing UM defense has been able to do a little bit would be to slow down the run. I think UM wins 35 to 14 or so.

Actually it has more to do with the ND game, because ND was at UM this year they play more home games. They also have no control over the Big10 schedule either, so they just scheduled 3 home games for there non conference. They make much more money when they play at The Big House.

I realize that, and I know OSU does the same thing (try and schedule as many home games as possible, especially in a year where the conference schedule has them playing 5 or 6 homey's as it is)....I was just busting tsun's balls over the fact that the first five games are at home, that's all

If Michigan runs the piss out of Denard this isn't a close game. If they try establishing other running backs the entire first half, then yeah, this will be a close one.

I'd rather have a close game with Denard not running it 26 times. They need to figure other ways to move the ball, or it could be another long B1G season.

Unfortunately Aztecs will still be extinct when this debacle is over. Hopefully someone runs out of bounds and knocks Charlie Weiss Jr. on his fat ass.

They do need to get the running game going, but they have Minnesota and NW coming up. Got to get the win in this one and go all out with Denard IMO.

Run him like crazy. I'll be in AA next week for the Minnesota game and would like it to be closer than expected :)

What does that gain them? I'd rather see them work on the offense and getting things working than just run Denard to beat these teams soundly. Then what happens when they get in the meat of the B1G and Denard is getting stopped?

I think that this is still Michigan's biggest problem, yes the defense plays harder and is a little better but on offense I don't see much diffence from last season. If Robinson doesn't run the ball 25 times Michigan can't move the football. The same thing will happen as last year, he will get beat up by the good teams and get knocked out of games, so I guess that I am agreeing with you that they need to develop something else besides him running all the time. The problem is, I don't see a running back currently on their roster who is capable of being the man, so Denard will probably have to do what he is doing to give Michigan it's best chance to win, but long term it won't work.

FYI, Vincent Smith is now the starter. And Rawls has worked his way to "2nd or 3rd". I have a feeling we will start seeing some more Rawls in the next few games.

This has been said before, but I wish Fitz could stay healthy. Every time he's played, he's been awesome, but he just can't stay healthy.

Yep. I assume that is why Rawls is "#2 or #3". Meaning if Fitz is healthy, he is #2. If not, Rawls is.
