Still wanna know why Durkin, the starter all year, did not start. Heard he a had a bad fever earlier in the week, but he was in school the past few days and was kicking for the Irish.

Regardless congrats to Big Red.
The only thing I could figure is that Ursuline's coach was trying to throw a wrinkle at us, considering that we prepared for Durkin. He probably thought that with Ursuline's big oline and backs that he could hammer the ball at the Big Red defense and wear them down. It worked somewhat, but then Big Red adjusted to it. Sometimes coaches outsmart themselves.

It's called prevent...keep everything in front of you. We didn't want to give up a quick score. It would have made no difference if Durkin played or not, Ursulines Oline had no answer for #49 Houst, #33 LeShawn Luke, #36 TeShawn Luke, #48 Manard Reed.

MOW is right, I think the staff may have thought back to the Inkster game in 09' and said "not this time". But I think you need to show confidence in your players ability to continue to bring the pressure no matter who's at QB.

I know what prevent is an I know what a one-dimensional offense is. Ursuline is effective when they have the passing game to compliment the rushing attack. Last night Ursuline had NO passing game AT ALL until Durkin came in.

Again folks, Durkin was our starter the first four games and played pretty solid considering he is taking over for a team with 3 straight state titles. Big Red deserved to win last night, but I just do not understand why you wait to bring in Durkin until late in the game. If he was OK to play, you should play him the whole game.

lmao.... The University of Ursuline is on life support. Go ahead and schedule your fish fry or Friday night Bingo at the church in week 11.

I cannot think of any valid reason to wait until the end of the game to put a qb in other than poor coaching. Obviously the coaching staff knows what they are doing, so what gives? Dude put a qb in the game with 4 minutes left so wtf was he thinkin the first 44? Let me start a rb at qb and see what happens? ? ? He either could play and he should have started, or he couldn't and he shouldn't have. Especially after watching 3 quarters of futile offense. How does that not even happen by halftime?

I did not see the other 4 games but with the number of fumbles Ursuline had in those games, maybe the coach thought the option QB was the better choice. Big Red prepared for Durkin so the switch at QB may have also been to try to throw off our game plan. It looked pretty good the first series for Ursuline.
You have a very good coach there.
Cheers

It's people like you that give Big Red fans a bad name. Take your win like a man. That is if you are one.

Not surprised at this result. Ursuline wasn't impressive at all in Zanesville.

So how about some predictions at this point for Big Red. If we can squeak by Massilon I can see 10 wins. My issue is Mooney, Marlington, Dover and St. V. Playoffs will be unreal this year. I think D3 is loaded

Not really impressed with either squad. I thought I was watching a game between JewettScio & Conotton Valley. A couple of scrubs. The JVs were probably more disciplined.

BRs penalties were like week 1 of a brand new school & could UHS's players exude any more "showboatism"? I mean they make one tackle in the backfield & three or four of them dance around like they made the play to end the game. Get a grip & act like you have been there before.

RRR I hope we spend this week throwing on every play & teaching the QB not to throw into an area with 3 defenders.
