Game is Friday night 8pm on espn2. Looks like another perfect evening for football at the Nip, the stadium should look sweet on tv.

I'll take UC by 9 in another barn burner.

Eers have not played up to snuff this year. I don't like their quarterback at all. I do think Devine puts up at least a buck eighty on the ground though.

West Virginia's offense is nothing like UConn's or Fresno States for that matter. They don't run the traditional Power O plays that gave UC's smaller outside linebackers so many problems. The Mountaineers have a much smaller offensive line than the Huskies which is a good thing for UC as well. WVU's offense has regressed pretty substantially since the Marshal game. Culminating in a 273 yard performance last week against Louisville. Brown and Devine will both go but are probably less than %100. UC switched to a 3-4 scheme specifically to deal with this type of offense. Kelly wanted to get as much speed on the field as possible to defend against the inside and outside zone of WVU. But the bottom line is this, how does WVU stop UC? Their pass defense isn't that good, their stats certainly aren't good and the best QB's they have gone against to date are Chris Todd or BJ Daniels. Neither of whom is as good as Collaros and/or Pike. I am looking forward to tomorrow night when I will be donning my red hoodie and assuming my traditional spot in the student section.

38-17 UC

What is the scoop on Pike? Is he done for the regular season?

He is medically cleared to play and the latest rumor I have heard around campus is that Kelly will try to give him a couple series, but I don't buy it. When Pike plays UC is empty about 50 percent of the time and its very hard for any QB to protect themselves in that situation, and you can't play around that injury. Last year Kelly rushed back Pike because UC really needed him to continue winning football games. This year with Collaros playing as well as he has there isn't the same sense of urgency to bring Tony back. Pike also has to think about his future in the sport which is pretty bright but can dim substantially with another awkward fall on that arm. UC has a bye after this game and Tony is supposed to start the Illinois game which is Senior Night. The more pressing injury issue is Jacob Ramsey being out for Friday. This will be Issiah Pead's first game as the man at the running back position which should be interesting. He is a better running back and a better receiver than Ramsey he is certainly more explosive than Ramsey, both running and receiving, but Jacob has done the little things very well to date. Which is why he has drawn seven of the nine starts this year. Backing up Pead will be Scott Johnson, a safety two years ago, and Darrin Williams a redshirt Freshmen heretofore better known as "that guy standing next to Mardy Gilyard on kickoff returns"

i went to practice yesterday and Pike was making all the throws, he was not taking snaps though.

My opinion is Zach will get 2 series, if the offense is clicking in those he will remain in until they either are looking real bad or get a big lead. If they are losing after those first 2 and only have 7pts or less they will go to Pike.

Regardless of who starts for UC, they win this game by close to 30. It will be a stomping.

Dave,
Why only give a guy that has been playing as well as Collaros has been only 2 series, that seems kind of short? I could see if he throws 2 picks or something like that.

Should be a good game. Zach has earned the right to start although Pike has been cleared to play. I'll take the Bearcats in this one.

That's just what I think will happen.

I don't think the key will be who's in a QB for UC, it's how many plays Devine will be able to go. I would never wish injury to someone but hopefully UC gets a few good licks on him and his productivity is low.

The spread for this game is 10 points with UC as the favorite. Do you guys think UC cover the spread? I'm not sure I think WV will put up a fight tonight.

I think Cincy wins big but I wan't to see Noel have a huge game. He has been my favorite player to watch ever since I saw his HS highlight tape.

Devine is going to give it a go but Bill Stewart is not very confident that he will play the entire game.
