Just think how good Pryor will be when he starts his first game!

Don't we have a random NFL chatter for topics such as this?

Didn't see the game...just the highlights. But what I saw was very impressive.

He got zero protection for much of the second half. The Cardinals were sending 5 or 6. He was making good reads and didn't force the football. Carolina just doesn't have the playmakers to really stop anyone or put anyone away. Cam was methodical and didn't make huge mistakes, which I am sure makes Ron Rivera happy. Unfortunately the Panthers are 0-1 with Green Bay coming to town next week.

Way too early and I know it was only the Cardinals but I gotta eat some crow on this one. Kid looked damn good....

I saw his stat line today and I heard the little "Fantasy Alert! Fantasy Alert" siren in my head that Jim Rome always plays because fantasy football guy will be falling all over themselves to claim him off the waiver wire if he is available in their leagues.

He is going to be a hell of a player though as he clearly has that it factor you just can't teach.

I agree I was very surprised. Cam might actually become a solid NFL qb

I thought he would be goodie time but am surprised he had this much success in game 1.

And today we saw how superior he is to Pryor. I never understood those comparisons.

Watched most of the game (redzone) and he was pretty fucking awesome. Was pissing me off as I had Arizona in a suicide pool. But color me as impressed. I thought he would be good, cause he has a good ball and some zip to go along with raw athletic ability and size. But 422 in a debut was pretty amazing.

Yes. And some were getting angry at HB for talking about it. Go figure.

Laley I took Arizona in one as well... Cam did look pretty good a lot better then I thought he would be. I was impressed but I will wait till he plays some better defenses before I say more.

great debut, but its only one game, against one of the worst teams in the NFL from last season, their defense being a big part in that. Zona was blitzing all day, leaving some pretty easy throws for Cam to make.

Some of those bombs to Smith were great throws though. In particular the one late that Smith was OB for. The second TD (to Smith) was awesome as well. I think the yardage is a factor of Zona blitzing, but he did look great throwing the ball in general.

I think it was the second td to Smith where Newton moved the safety with his eyes to the middle of the field then came back to Smith in the corner. That was pretty impressive and something I didn't think he'd be able to do that quickly. Put the ball right where it had to be as well.

He even had a tackle on his interception so I'd say he did everything.

Damn...400+ yards passing AGAIN today. Has that EVER happened in a rooks 1st two starts?

Impressive but he had 3 Int's and took a bad sack late in the game instead of throwing it away.

Rookie mistakes. He'll learn.

Put up 53 rushing yards and a TD today too.

Only 18 yards on 11 carries for Stewart/Williams today though. Didn't see any of the game, were the Packers just stacking the box and daring Cam to beat them?

I think the Panthers like Cam's arm so much they now have a wide open passing attack.
