There are only 2 iOS phones vs. dozens of different Android phones, across several manufacturers. In that sense, it’s much easier to sell more devices when you have more of those to offer from the start. And all their buy one get one free deals help pad the stats too.
It isn't spin at all.

It doesn't matter that Apple only sells two devices. If we're looking at Android and iOS as competing ecosystems then Android has be performing better recently. The fact that there are tons of phones running Android compared to iOS doesn't matter in this metric.

Android kinda sucks. I loved it at first until all the bugs started popping up.

I killed HTC sense as soon as I could on my Incredible and installed Cyanogenmod b/c of the lag and crap that started to happen not long after I got the phone. Hopefully my next phone will be a Nexus device so I dont' have to deal with all the extra crap.

The same can be said about Android supporters.

I agree on that point, I still have a shitty old ATT Tilt. But Android certainly has it's problems. I was merely talking about the number of phones being sold with Android vs the number with iOS. Android phones are selling more than iOS devices now.

I'm thinking of picking up the HTC Titan or Samsung Focus S when they come out.

LOL @ all the iPhone haters. Who cares what phone somebody has? I've had both a Droid and an iPhone, and prefer the iPhone, it doesnt bug and freeze up constantly like my droid did. Battery life seems better as well. Oh yea, and im not one of those people that "cream" over Apple products. The iPhone is and always will be the only Apple product I own.

and 4g is overrated, jmo. I checked out the Thunderbolt before buying my iPhone 4...didnt notice too much difference, and I dont need "high speed" while checking my facebook or twitter.

Are you in an area that even has 4G?

And like you just said, you don't do anything that makes faster speeds particularly more desirable. Loads of people do though.

4G is about 10x faster in my experience.

I live in Akron, and yes there is 4g. What are some examples that would make high speeds desirable?

If you are someone who watches a lot of streamed video on your device, it'd be desirable. If you upload a lot of photos or videos from your device it's desirable. If you use your device as a hotspot for other devices (laptop, etc) then it's really nice.

If you are watching videos, chances are you aren't driving, but are somewhere that you could connect to wifi. I agree about it being nice if you use it as a hotspot. I just dont think the market is that high for those who NEED 4g as a necessity.

She's in the market for a new one and I recommended getting a Bionic (I have a Charge) ... she won't even look. It's iPhone or nothing, regardless of whether or not another smartphone may actually be a better machine, and regardless of whether or not another smartphone may perform all the functions of an iPhone. I have a feeling a lot of iPhone users are that way.

Hitting the nail on the head.

It reminds me of politics. When the president speaks and says something that Democrats agree with EVERY democrat claps, though they may not personally agree.

As for the 3d movies stuff, I have no comment. 3d stuff needs to fuck off

Since when has tech had anything to do with necessity?

4g is nice, speed-wise, but it drains my battery like a motherfucker. Not really worth the tradeoff.

A friend of mine's wife has the Thunderbolt and he said the same thing. I believe he disabled the 4g to increase the battery life.

The battery is really shitty on the Thunderbolt but I like the 4G because I use it as a Hotspot and watch TV, Netflix and HBO Go. Why use WiFi when 4G is faster. But for people that just use it for internet, games and email you really don't need 4g.

I found this kind of surprising...

“Every single quarter for 5 years the Mac has outgrown the PC market"

MacBook Pro and iMac are #1 selling notebook and desktop in the US.

Nothing interesting yet...just Apple thumping their chest. I want to know how they got those "Installed Mobile Base" numbers. They must be taking into account Tablets, and not strictly phones.
