Fickell's stubbornness almost cost him any shot at getting the full time coaching gig today.

They're cleaning house at the end of the season. Gotta distance themselves from the Tress regime.

The decision to keep Fickell is not going to be dependent on this game.

I'm not sure why Toledo abandoned Page...he should have been doing sweeps across the backfield the whole game.

It isn't now. But a loss to Toledo at home would have just about sealed his fate in my opinion.

Stopped going to the TE. Ran only straight up the middle almost exclusively. Some poor tackling on the short dump offs. Miami has better athletes. We will have to tackle better!

No doubt in my mind that Urban will be coaching next year.

This isn't like Gruden who's actually good in the booth...Urban stinks and has no future there.

Toledo isn't the kind of team that will make a living running horizontally on Ohio State.

They are either going to hire fickell or hire a new hc. Either way they wull have full reign over staff. My guess is heacock at the very least stays unless they hire a new hc and they give fickell the dc, in which case vrabel and johnson will prob stay

I don't care for him in the booth but he is head and shoulders above the rest of the ESPN clowns in discussions.

I think having Meyer, Fickell, and Vrabel as recruiters would help OSU out a ton! But I dont know how that would be between Fickell and Meyer for Meyer to come in and take his job and having Fickell demoted to DC...maybe he wouldnt have a problem with it...I just know that Fickell is a great recruiter for OSU and has helped pull in some big defensive recruits.

Clarke saved the game with the late knockdown. What a fun game to watch and thread to read. :)

tOSU has been terrible against screens...especially bubble screens for the last decade and it's simply because they allow the offense to retain a numerical advantage because they're such a zone oriented team. tOSU's X's may be better than Toledo's O's but when there are 3 O's blocking two X's in the wide side of the field and a fast and quick guy has the ball you're going to have problems. Exhibit A was in the 06 National Championship game when the Gators would motion Harvin out into essentially a quads set and we retained a Quarters shell. You just don't see those types of gains on Bubble Screens against SEC Defenses which predominantly Run Cover 1 Robber. Would have liked to see Jamaal Berry get at least one carry. It's amazing how much Tressel/Bollman love the power play which they call the "Dave." I remember reading Coach Tressel's article on the play and he talked about how their goal since Youngstown St. has been to run that play as many times as they can in a season. Everybody in American knows it's coming.

Hopefully we can turn it around next week. Miami's D-Line is going to be licking their chops when they watch the film this week.

Toledo had 14 penalties for 100 yards, Ohio State had 2 for 13 yards..... There's your ball game.

Meyer already has his house here right?

It's frustrating that OSU is supposed to be loaded at the RB position yet they have such mediocre backs. I don't even think Herron is that good, but I'm looking forward to his return.

And Fickel has zero chance of keeping his job if he doesn't play Miller. Fickel has to win the crowd and the only way to do that is to throw the freshman out there and let him play.
