Yes or No, do you think Fred Taylor is worthy of induction to the Pro Football HoF ?

In his career, he averaged at least 4.5 per carry for an entire season eight times.
Of the 14 men ahead of him on the all-time rushing list, only Jim Brown and Detroit's Barry Sanders got to 4.5 per-carry for a season eight times.

Emmitt Smith did it three times. Walter Payton and Marshall Faulk five times. LaDainian Tomlinson four times. Curtis Martin did it just once.

I don't know though, even though I don't think he is a HOFer, he'll probably get in. The Pro Football Hall of Fame is kind of a joke. It should be called the "Hall of Very Good"

No, but like Jordo said, it isnt as tough. I think of HOFers as guys who dominated the league for a few seasons en route to very good careers. Taylor simply had a very good career. He was never a top 3 back in the NFL though.

His perception / nickname "Fragile Freddy" might hurt him a little. I think most people remember him for missing long periods of time over the course of his career. However despite the time he missed he still put up numbers

I always side with the guys that were never elite great but very good with the appropriate longevity stats.....but he just didn't do enough....and mix it in with no playoff greatness....no way IMO

The bigger joke is the basketball HOF. It is a joke however, that Cris Carter has yet to be induced to the HOF.

The whole process on how the HOF is conducted is a joke imo. It's ridiculous how certain players have to wait 20+ years to get inducted. What did they do from the time they retired to finally gain enough votes to get into the HOF?

There should be no set # of inductees each year imo. The first time a guy is eligible, the decision should be made then. If he is in, he is in, if not, then he will never get in.

Not to mention that punter Ray Guy is not in the hall of fame. What a joke. They invented the little hang time clock on t.v. because of him. LOL!! You could make an argument for a lot of good players that are not in the hall and some of it has to do with the media not liking the player.......you could easily argue that Ken Stabler should be in, he has better stats than Joe Namath and matches his Super Bowl ring.....but the media was never a big Stabler fan and they loved Namath......Miyagi is not saying Stabler should be in but maybe if he isnt then Namath shouldnt be

no on Taylor btw

15th in yards rushing......many receivers have surpassed that yardage as well

I kinda always have had 12,000 as the number you must get to without other accolades

Yes I think he will get in the HOF because he can afford to buy a ticket. If this thread is about his induction into the Hall, then no.

I would have thought No, but the avg ypc screams Yes. Pretty sure everyone (active) ahead of him on the Total yards list is in.

I look at that list, and he stick out like a sore thumb. Just nowhere near the talent some of those guys (ok, pretty much all of them) had. I feel like that list is a great accomplishment for Taylor, but it doesnt help sway me. It makes me think "how long id that guy play? Beause he isnt near those around him."
